Newbie intro

Hello! I just found this site while researching on mixing my own e-liquids (youtube). I am still a noob to vaping. I started out with Blucigs, but when my backup battery when belly up the first week I tried to buy a replacement locally only to be told they didn't stock them. So, what the heck, I decided to buy another kit as that would have extras of extras in it! Nope! I had already purchased the last rechargeable kit. So out of desperation I felt I was forced to either jump ship and go right back to smoking cigarettes or buy another kit (different brand) altogether. I opted for the latter. I ended up with a Tsunami (eGo). Wow! What a difference a type of ecig makes. I haven't looked back at Blucigs. So, I smoked for 40 years and have been full time vaping for the past four months. Yippee! My husband -- same story. He smoked for 40 years and quit using eGo. He has since switched to Volcano, but I am quite happy with my eGo.

The only thing I am not happy with is the variance in smoke juices from place to place. We travel for a living and when I began this venture in NC, I never questioned that the juices would not be available in GA or TN. The flavor that has been most satisfying for us is Dekang Tobacco USA. We were both Marlboro smokers -- me lights and him red mediums, but the DeKang USA satisfies the both of us.

So in response to the different juices, I decided to start research making my own juice. One thing about it, if I can learn how to make my own, I won't have to worry about availability from place to place :D

Anyhow, hope everyone is having an awesome weekend and happy vaping to one and all! ;)

Welcome to ECF!

Lots of information here to be had, once you make your post count (don't worry, we all had to do that).

Since you both like tobacco juices, you should check out NETs (Naturally Extracted Tobacco).

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-liquid-discussion/274904-natural-tobaccos.html

and there's a DIY forum here too: DIY E-Liquid

So, lots to look forward to. Welcome, congratulations on quitting smoking and I'm glad you survived the cig-alike phase. Egos and mods are such better vapes.

Welcome , but do yourself a favor , and try some other flavored juices as well . I thought that a tobacco flavor was all I would ever want . Well now I use tobacco , coffee , and even some fruit juices . Lots more choices when vaping , over smoking . And DIY is not only the cheapest way to go . It's also the way to be sure you never run out . As well as knowing exactly what's going into your vape juice . Good Luck
As an afterthought . GO check out Wizard labs . Just one of many places that sell Pg / VG bases , and flavorings too .

Welcome to the site. As mentioned above Wizard Labs is a great place for DIY supplies. And I would also suggest trying some other flavors. When I started I thought all the different flavors were just silly, but after trying a few I really enjoy them tobacco flavor juice now probably is at about 10% of what I vape. Wizard Labs sells 8ml bottles of flavoring for 1.49, and thats more than enough flavoring to decide if you like it and for the price it's worth a shot. Over all with my last order of DIY supplies i am making juice for 7 1/2 cents a ml.

Hi, Everyone! This is my first post, as well.

I had a very similar experience. I was a menthol smoker for over 10 years, and I never thought I would enjoy flavored e-liquids...until I got talked into Wicked's Blueberry! I am also on an eGo, but I am thinking of eventually getting into mods. I'm always jealous when I see the guys' vapor on YouTube. That's really my reason for this post-I really recommend YouTube for researching things like juice reviews and such. It has been a huge help to me. I know that taste is really subjective, but when most people give a juice a good review you can feel better about your purchase.

I hope this helps!

Hi, everybody!
I'm on my 12th day of vaping, and love it! I, seriously, haven't missed cigarettes at all; not even one little bit (even when friends light up around me: no urge). That is huge for me, considering what a fiend I was for 23 years (minus 2 pregnancies and the year following each one).
I tried quitting, and failed drastically with patches and gum. Hideous. I was one, miserable, puppy.
In 2010, I tried E-Cigs, and they helped me stay off cigs for about a week. They tasted retched, and when a friend lit up around me? I was toast. I had fire coming off my tires wheeling into the local corner store to get smokes.
I have 3 little girls (3, 7, and 13), and my 7 year old has been riding my back about quitting cigs. I promised her I would this summer.
Knowing I LOVE "smoking", having a friend who uses E Cigs and analogs, and the quasi-good result I had in 2010: I decided to try E-Cigs, again.
A week of disposable use led me to search for a rechargeable unit. Found a good one, love it, but am sure it will not be long before I want, and need, to upgrade (SURPRISE!).
Let me say: I am so busy trying and enjoying new flavors; researching and reading -up on the gigantic amount of opinions; advice; and information related to vaping that litters the Internet (plus everyday life stuff, of course); and I'm enjoying every second.
All of those things added to the fact that my 7 year old is sooooo proud of me: I wish I had switched sooner! I had no idea! Really, if I had known how awesome and easy this would be? I would have done this sooner.
I went on a Girls' Night Out (greatly needed, trust me!), last night, had my E-Cigs, had a blast, and was shocked at how bad my still-smoking girlfriends smelled. Stale cigarette smoke really is pungently foul, and burning cigarette smoke is smothering to be around.
I had A couple of drinks (also greatly needed, trust me!), vaped, and didn't miss not having a cigarette sidekick for my beer. THAT, along with enjoying vaping with my beloved coffee were two litmus tests I passed with flying colors.
Man, if only E-Cigs were the "cool" thing to do at parties back in the summer of 1990, then I could tack some more years to my expiration date! No matter: it's all good. Better later (now) than never!
Ps: if you read all of that, thank you. I do tend to over-type. Oops. My bad!
