Just wanted to stop by and say hello...I've been a busy little lurker, then after much research I purchased and eGo kit, I kinda toyed with it, felt it for a day...on that same day my analog using was cut in half! I smoked 2 packs a day and was down to 1 the first day I began using my eGo. Once my husband saw what was going on, he adopted my extra eGo, so I had to order more batteries and atty's.The 2nd day I was down to 1/2 a pack..the following day 0. I quit completely July 14, 2010 and I'm thrilled. My husband quit yesterday. I never would have believed it would be this easy. Yesterday I had some probs. I think it was from not having all the other chems. in analogs...but by the grace of God and my new eGo I pressed through and seem to be ok now....any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

eGo is a great choice, IMO. I wish I'd done so well with my first purchase.

Congratulations to both you and your husband! No generic tips to offer, seems like you're doing just fine in the research department. :) But, if you have any specific questions, ECF (as you know) is a great community to come to for answers.

Welcome to the light from the shadows of lurkerdom, and ...

Vape On!

Congrats Sherrie,

I too am a newbie but still waiting for my kit, I got a V4L one. I however quit smoking 2 months ago but still don't feel normal. I know I am done with analogs but like you have researched so much through ECF and YouTube, etc. and feel this is what I have been waiting for, just trying to defend my choice with everyone I know.

Good luck to you and your husband,

Next item to get, The LR Atty. Been vaping for 4 weeks.
started with blue, went into 510 after finding this place, then Ego all within two weeks, investment will still pay off. was still cheating in morning, just got my LR Atty 2 day ago and no cheat, first fill thought, hmmm not too much a difference like everyone claimed. 2nd fill and BOOM, WOW, much greater TH (Throat Hit) and More Vapor, but also drags are so smooth and consistant. You can get them from notcigs.com for only 5 bucks.
Keep Vaping

Congrats!! It's a great feeling, isn't it?
The only thing I can advise, and this is because it's the only problem I had when starting out.. is make sure you keep hydrated. The PG in the juice will dehydrate you somewhat, and I had HORRIBLE leg cramps for the first two weeks, and alittle bit of insomnia. After narrowing it down to dehydration, I started chugging the water and it all went away.
Happy vaping, and again, congrats!!!!

LRs do seem to burn a bit more juice than a standard atty.

I've been vaping for six months now. Previously I smoked 2.5/3 packs of Marlboro lights a day. I quit as soon as my vaporizer arrived. I too could not believe how easy it was to put them down.

My experiences have been many some good some not so good. I've got a GGTS from Vapor Kings and a Black Bullet from AltSmoke. They are both excellent. Atomizers have been hit and miss...I've blown thru my fair share and am currently experimenting with a cartomizer that Vapor4Life thru in an order. So far it's good. I drip only and the carto is working good with my drip tip. Juice wise you have gotta get some Tasty Vapor. I've got many flavors there and they all are excellent.

Hit the water and keep hydrated. You're right about the chemicals from the analogs. They'll be gone soon and good riddence. Wait until next week and see how much better you can breathe. I don't hover over the trash can coughing my ... off anymore either. Overall my health is much, much improved. Stick with it and you and yours will see the same benefits. Good Luck and pass the juice!!

I quit completely July 14, 2010

Hey Sherrie...same quit day here! 7/14/10. That's when I got my 501 and USA Mix juice.

I'm still coughing a little barely, but no more hacking. 39 yr smoker. Although every now and then, I have the urge for a ciggy, I just reach for the 501, and take a hit...all better now.:D
After hundreds of quits, I know better than jinxing a good quit by saying I've Quit, so I'll just say, this e-cig thing is a nice "vacation" from ciggies.

I'm ready for some new flavors now.

Just like Scotte said in his Sticky Post up there, you go in thinking "I'm a ciggy smoker, I need ciggy flavor", and after a few days, BAM!:w00t: it hits you, this stuff tastes terrible! I spose once your taste buds start returning, you get more sensitive to flavors and ciggy smoke ain't the one!

I'm going to try and make my own flavored juice from scratch now.

You've done a wonderful thing for your baby. (ETA: And for yourself.)

This is a long-term habit you are dropping. Six and a half months out I still find myself looking for the ashtray when I walk into a room in my apartment. When I started (from 3 packs to 0 in 5 days), I frequently found myself reaching for a cigarette that wasn't there. It helped to say to myself "Oh, yeah. I don't do that any more" then deliberately reach for my PV.

It helps enormously that this is the only alternative to smoking that I know of that addresses the addiction to the oral fixation, what to do with your hand, etc. (except a hookah and I was never interested in carrying one of those around in my purse.) Everything else, from Acupuncture to Zyban, addresses the addiction to nicotine only.

A low res atomizer simulates 5 volt vaping on a stock (3.0 volts, more or less) or a 3.7 volt battery. If you want to vape at 5V but don't want to invest in a battery mod right now or you want to try it to find out if you like it, go ahead and order a couple. I've never had any interest in vaping at above 3.7V. (I like that my vapor is not very warm.)

An eGo uses 510s. I'd recommend trying 510 cartomizers. There's less fussing. They hold up to 1 ml of liquid so you can clean up and lock up all the nicotine less often. (Might as well get into good habits regarding handling nicotine before the baby is old enough to get in trouble.) I like the ones with soft, rubber, removable ends. They're easier to fill and you can just pop a drip tip on.

Some of the more popular places to get them are:
cloudsofvapor.com
nhaler.com
ecigsupply.com
cigtechs.com
litecigusa.net
cigeasy.com
madvapes.com

More than half those suppliers have discount codes so make sure you check Strell's master list or the supplier's forum on ECF before ordering.

Good luck and congratulations!

Hi Sherrie,

I jumped in post #4 just after midnight (CDT). I do have a recommendation I'd like to add since you've got the eGo ... the eGoMega cartomizers and eGoMega cylinder atomizer/cartrdges. I've had mine for a bit over a week and haven't used much else since delivery. They're available at ...

Cignot

and

Totally Wicked eLiquid - the eGo is called the Tornado here. They may be available elsewhere as well, but those are two I'm aware of.
YouTube - Totally Wickeds Mega Tornado Atomizer + Cartridge and Tornado cartomizer

Congratulations for making the switch!

Its hard to believe how easy it is to ditch analogues with ecigs.
I used to be up to a pack a day smoker, for five years, I switched completely to ecigs in a single day, going on five days now

Initially I bought an M401 kit, I have been using that with a spare battery and a PCC, it vapes really smooth refreshing vapor. A friend also gave me a 510 passthrough, its a bit coarser, but helps me preserve the batts on my 401 while im at home or work.

I've decided I want better portable battery life, and after reading about the popularity and praise of the eGo, I've ordered two Titanium eGo's with 900mah batteries. Im so excited to try it out, if it vapes anything like my 401 (or better) ill end up gifting my 401 to someone who can make use of it.

Anyway, you'll notice some changes right away, my sense of smell has improved after just several days, and given time you'll learn what strength of draw is best for your atty, what is the best ways to keep them clean and working great.

Good to read about others who found it so effortless and easy to ditch analogs with vaping! :D
