Hello,

Since I started vapping last week and I LOVE IT, I've being vaping all the time and almost everywhere, specially at home watching TV, using computer in the bedroom etc etc.

My starting kit was a GreenSmartLiving that I really like but the problem is that the baterry runs out pretty quick. I would like to upgrade for something with a better batter (specially with 2 batteries such as Riva or Ego as I found in my research).

Theres alot of options but considering the price and also the features, easy maintenance etc I ended up with 3 options:

a) Riva 501 SE
b) Riva 901
c) SMK EGO 501

Whats the best option considering not only the price but easy maintenance, durability and obviously good vapor.

Thanks guys, this forum is awesome!

They're all relatively similar. The ego is 3.2v (ish) regulated and the riva isn't regulated meaning it will start around 4.2v once it's fully charged then dip to about 3.2v when it's needing charged. Because of that I'd probably choose the riva as it's higher voltage to start which is what I'm used to. I would likely choose the 510 over the 901 as there tends to be more 510 compatable gear out there than 901.

However, the battery is almost the least important factor in an ecig. The ego and riva will both do the same sort of thing. For ease of use, vapour production and robustness, it's the heating element you'll want to consider as well. You can't really go wrong with a cartomiser around 2.5 - 2.0 ohms on the ego or riva but there are so many other options.

CE2/fluxomisers/vision clearomisers, atomisers, tanks, cartomisers, EMDCC, dual coil cartos etc

With the greensmartliving, I assume it was a cartomiser system (a 2 piece? battery and a cartridge) so you could simply get cartomisers to go with any battery you choose and you'd do alright.

I guess in short, you can choose any and you wont have made a bad decision for an upgrade to the greensmoke. I would choose the riva 510 if I was allowed only one of those from that list, but that's me.

I personally like the 510 threaded devices bc they are very popular and there is a wide array of attys and cartos you could use. Out of those, I would go with the 510 Riva SE because its a 3.7V PV. The eGo is 3.3-3.4V. 3.7V PVs can handle the LR attys and cartos better than the eGo. The 3.7V PVs give a very satisfying vape and give alittle more oomph than an eGo. Many people like the eGo though.

I would also consider the kGo and E-Power. They are both 3.7V with 510 threading too. Plus both of them have long battery life. The kGo batteries are 1100mah and the E-Powers are 1050mah. The main difference of the E-Power is that it uses non-proprietary batteries. E-Power batts cost $4-5 compared to eGo/Riva/kGo batts that are $14-20, and they also last alot longer before they need to be replaced. Also everything is replaceable on the E-Power so its cheaper to maintain. I use an E-Power and love it. It gives great hits and I get about a day to a day and a half on one battery. CCV also has a great deal on the E-Power.

If I were you I would def get the kGo, Riva, or E-Power. They are all very affordable and give a very satisfying vape

I swear I'm not a discountvapers.com groupie.

Go to discountvapers.com and have Gormly hook you up with a go-go 1300ma batt, buy a 510 to GoGo adapter, an 808D-1 to GoGo adapter and an 808D-1 to 510 adapter, this should run you somewhere in the neighborhood of 25 bucks total. You are now equipped to vape virtually any cartomizer with the most portable, durable, long lasting and powerful batt (in my opinion) out there. I just did this and am looking at my ridiculously massive and eclectic collection of cartos and feeling something like this:

..........However, the battery is almost the least important factor in an ecig.........

This is just plain wrong!! If this was true, we could all just use M402 analog size, auto battery models and we could all go skipping down the road blissfully.

Batteries can make a huge difference in your vaping satisfaction. It affects the warmth of the vapor, throat hit, fullness of the vapor, consistency of the vaping experience and level of hassle to vape. I would love to know how many different models and battery configuations someone has used when they make a statement like this to understand what comparative analysis was used.

There are additional factors that are also important (cart, carto, atomizer, eliquid). But the battery is a very important part of the equation.

To the OP, of the ones you listed, I would pick the Riva 510 due to it being 3.7 volts and more options with the 510 threading. But there are many other options that can be considered better than those three. In the same category, I would choose the E-Power 510 or Kgo over these.

But if you really want to upgrade and get more consistency, better throat hit and more flexibility, then I would look at a good 5 volt or variable volt models.

I have to agree with wv2win as well. You say the heating element is whats important, but the battery is what powers and controls the heating element, so its actually very important. I would even go as far to say that the battery and voltage are prob the most important thing of all. Theres a reason that a slim ecig doesnt hit and give as satisfying a vape as a bigger battery PV. The same 3.0ohm Boge carto will hit very differently on a slim ecig and on a 5V PV. I find theres even a noticeable difference using the same carto on an eGo and a 3.7V PV like an E-Power or kGo. Its obviously not as big of a difference as a slim ecig vs a 5V but its def different.

Awesome! Thanks for the info guys!

Thats why I loved this forum! Thank you so much for all the info and feedback.
I decided to get the Riva 510 SE with Boge 2.7ohm cartomizers and drip tips :D

Once I receive it here I will write a little review about this choice!

Thanks again

...those 2.7ohm cartos are gonna be lite in the hit department...to get the best from that Riva go with low resistance gear such as the Boge2.0 or the 1.7Resurrectors(these really rock a Riva or any 3.7v batts)........
