Newbie losing the battle!!

Hi guys and girls!! Well I'm pretty new to vaping and things ain't going to well!!

I bought a starter kit beginning of the year and was doing well until I tried a different make cart and it stripped the thread from my battery and it was out of warranty. The company annoyed me so thought I'd try a different make.

A guy I sort of know started selling these Just Fog ones ( JUSTFOG > PRODUCT > MAXI Clearomizer ) and on inspection they looked well made so thought I'd spend my £45 on a new kit. All went well for just over two weeks then the battery wouldn't charge all the way and as a few days went on they got worse and worse until they wouldn't charge at all. I got in touch with him and he changed them, but now after about the same amount of time they've done the same thing again!

I plug the charger in, the battery flashes a few times as it should and the light on the charger stays on green.

I've got back in touch with him and he's telling me there's nothing he can do because he sent one of the first lot of batteries back and the manufacturer says there's nothing wrong with it. How much of this is true I'm questioning??

I've never noticed them being damp or get really grubby, and even if they were a bit would it really kill two batteries in under three weeks?

A single charge would last me 2 1/2 days so that's not a lot of charges on two batteries in three weeks is it! I never ran them flat either!

Has anyone had any experience of these Just Fog Maxi's?

I'm looking for some back up to throw this kit back in his face as I'm back on the cancer sticks at the moment and not a happy bunny!!

First of all, welcome to ECF. We're glad you're here and found us. :)

I'm not familiar with the product's name, but from the looks of it it is what we call an eGo type battery and some sort of clearomizer juice tank. Getting 2 1/2 days on a charge is pretty good, but that depends upon how much you are using it.

Regardless, those batteries should have lasted more than 3 weeks. It looks like you and your buddy got ripped off with some bad equipment. For one thing, brand name equipment goes a long way in the e-cig business. There are but a few high quality manufacturers in China, and the rest of them make knockoffs of those brands which are poorer in quality. You got ahold of one of the really bad knockoffs. Sorry for your luck.

For that knockoff battery like you had, the high quality brand name battery should have been either a Vision Spinner or a Joytech Twist. Should you seek another set of batteries, that is what you should look for.

Don't know what elso to say. You've had a "taste" of vaping. Hopefull that was enough to help you realize that once you get a nice reliable setup that you can finally put those ciggies away for good.

Hi Golly, I did a search on the forum for justfog and what little info turned up was in the korean forum and it didn't look promising , from what little I could gather about it kiosks being closed in korea and such the company might be in financial trouble . My best advice is get your post count up past 5 and go on the UK & Korean forums here and ask about it . Don't give up just yet their are better products available for less money that people on the UK forum will help you find.

Maybe the charger was the weak link?

Anyway, it sounds like you'd be better off getting a more well known battery set-up. Hopefully you can find something recommended on ECF. I agree with Baditude on the spinner or twist if you were satisfied with the size and performance of your previous kit before it went kaput.

I'll give you some help as far as what to look for in a new setup. I have two links to blog articles. The first will be a picture dictionary of an ideal new vapor's setup with an eGo type battery and suggestions for the juice devices. There will be links to videos on how to use each suggestion, including the variable voltage battery.

The second link will be another picture dictionary of the more common juice delivery attachments, again with some pictures and demo videos. This should help get you acquanted with the terminology and some of the items commonly used.

Sorry to hear about your bum luck on the frogs. I got lucky and was steered towards a reputable company selling quality products. My first starter kit was the Joy-tech eGo-C with Redux tanks and I bought 2 sets. I have been using the same 4 batteries since january with no problems (knock on wood). All my batteries last a day to a day and a half depending on how much I vape in a day. I picked up an eGo-C Twist back in march and been having great performance with this battery as well.

I highly recommend once you find a good product to purchase enough backup hardware to make sure you don't have to resort to buying analogs to carry you over until your new stuff comes in. As a 37 yr 2ppd smoker I always made sure I have smokes on hand and I used the same thought process for when it came to vaping. I've been smoke free since March 6th and do not want to be in the position that makes me have to by a pack of cigs.

Since joining ECF I've been temped to purchase the Provari setup but I like the slim design of the eGo-C batteries. Small and easy to slip into my pocket when I'm out and about and it doesn't scare the hell out of the general public when I'm traveling through airports. There's tons of good information and lots of other peoples experience on ECF so keep looking through the post and I'm sure you'll find a good setup that works for you.
