Hi All.

I'd like some recommendation from the experts if possible to start vaping with the minimum amount of hassle possible.

I'll tell you my ciggie/vape background.

Never been much of a heavy smoker, but have smoked up to 10 a day some times.
Currently I only smoke occasionally as a social smoker, mainly when I go for drinks.

The problem I have Is I either have to ask for a cigarette, or I end up buying a pack, which I dont finish in the night, and I end up smoking on the following days, which in turn hooks me up for a while until I kick the habit for a few months, and the cycle repeats over and over.

In the past I used an e-cigarette I purchased from dealextreme with bad results, since it was extremely unreliable.

Here's what i'm looking for from en eciggie.

1) Reliability
2) value for money
3) Looks (Cigar or Cigarillo looks if possible)
4) if possible for it to use standard batteries 10440, RCR123 or 14500
5) a USB port to charge on the ciggie itself, but it's no biggie.

Appreciate the recommendations and advice.

G'Day Casual, welcome to the forum. Sounds like you are looking for an eGo/Riva 510 unit with the addition of an eGo Passthrough. The only point on your list it doesn't meet is 4) standard batteries.

I get my hardware supplies in Australia from ecigswarehouse.com.au but I buy nic juice from eastmall.net in China. I usually also buy some hardware when I order from eastmall to keep the freight costs in check.

Hope this helps.

The atty is hit or miss... it could last 1 day or 3+ months... (or so i've heard)

you will need to clean it. how often depends on your usage. atleast once a week. to do so, just drop it in some isopropryl alcohol preferably around 90% over night and let it dry out during the day.

Dripping is when you use the bottle and drip directly on the atty. usually 3-5 drops. and vape that way instead of using the cart.

Cartomizers are attys built into a cart. some people like them more. some don't I haven't used any yet. so I can't give input... but it's all about personal preference

I am also new to vaping and this forum, and after MANY days of researching and watching videos of all the different types, I ended up going with the eGo 510 unit for the long battery life and ability to mix and match different 510 accesories....and so far I LOVE it! Today is my first full day using it and have only smoked two analogs since 3pm (work night shift)! To give me the real feel I also purchased the Joye 510, which I am expecting by the end of the week. Either of the two are HIGHLY recommended from many people and got great reviews...and so far I am impressed with mine. Great "smoke", taste and throat hit. I would just suggest when you pick a juice you keep an open mind. I have been a menthol smoker fro 15 years, and thought that is what I would want...but I think I was wrong. I smoked menthol analogs to avoid that burnt taste of a regular smoke. I quickly figured out that when it comes to vaping, I needed to find something completely opposite of anything I would be looking for in an analog. Just a thought. :) There are two great sites ( im sure there are more, but newbie to newbie) that carry a nice selection of 510 styles. One is altsmoke.com (altsmoke05 for 5% discount) and the other is litecigusa.net. Both have passthrough/battery combos that use usb to mini usb for the 510 and the eGo. Hope this helps and good luck! I know I need it! :)
