I am newbie & only experienced with cartomizers. I would like to try some of the free sample juices that I received from various suppliers. The juices are sitting in my box unused because I don't want to waste my wonderful Boge LR 2.0 cartos just testing a juice. Currently using SLB Kgo 1100 with cartomizer + drip tip. Please tell me:
#1. How to use an atty
#2. What atty to buy
#3. Do I just drip into it to test out a juice or do I also need to purchase a cartridge?
Thanks in advance.

I presonally like the Genuine Joye 510 atomizer the best... I use the LR versions for my 3.7 volt devices... Direct dripping is the best way to use an atomizer... Take the new atty and blow out all the primer juice.. Next drip on 3-4 drops and vape a few hits... I usually blow out a new atty out one more time(to clear all the primer) and then re-drip 3 drops and you should be good to go. Now the best way to keep your attys at thier peak performance is to blow them out several times through out the day.... Sounds like a hassle, but it really isnt... Direct dripping will give you the best taste and perfomance... Its the only way I vape...

This may sound stupid but I am relatively new to all this. When you say "blow out" an atomizer, which end are you supposed to blow from? I have just the parts that came with my 510 starter kit, and some kanger cartomizers, and I am still trying to figure out how to get a consistent "good" volume of vapour, not have leaks, get decent flavour, etc. It's been a steep learning curve and I am still not "there" yet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Howdy! I would suggest messing around with the attys that came with your kit, seeing how they may not be the best quality and is a great way to cross that learning curve. Hmm, i dont think you could cross a curve. nevermind. anyways...
I blow mine (haha) from the part that i drip in. A few deep diaphragm puffs usually does the trick. Use a napkin.
As far as the dewicking, if you want try it out on those cheap atties (im sorry if they arent cheap,no offense), but i dont think it will make much of a difference for you at this point since over flooding is common with novice atty users. After you get the swing of things you can buy a bridgless atty. It doesnt have that metal thingy in the middle and no excess wick.

Hey Bullette.. my KGO came with attys and I've never gotten a good vape out of them.. everything tastes like burnt metal. Like you, I want to try new juices without wasting a good carto.. I bought a couple 510 threaded atty's from Prime Vaping, along with some juices to see if a different atty would work better. I blew one out,, didn't really see anything come out of it.. dripped three drops in, let it sit for a minute, put another drop in.. and WHALAAAA! A pretty decent vape! I could actually taste the juice!! Chocolate Sin from ECBlends.. quite yummy! I say look around here for people's favorite atty's... and I think the atty's that come with the KGO just aren't very good. I'm pretty much a noob too, but I know some cartos are better than others, I'm sure the same goes for attys. Good luck!

Atomizers are usually little tubes, one end threaded. To blow it out, pick it up, put the non-threaded side to your lips, hold a paper towel on the other end, and blow. Repeat until you're not getting primer moisture out of it, because whatever is used to prime those atomizers tastes like crap.

The first time you use one, drip a drop or two of your own juice that you don't mind losing, and blow that through, too. It'll clear out anything else that's left of the original primer, and then you can add a couple more drops of juice and pop your drip tip on and vape away. :)

I recommend a low-resistance atomizer if you're using any ego/kgo/Riva batteries. It seems to produce a better vape when dripping. You also need a drip tip - you can either remove the tip to drip into the atty directly, or carefully drip juice down through the hole on the tip, wiping off any excess that gets on the mouthpiece. It only takes a couple drops to get a few puffs of real good flavor.

Hope that helps.

#1. How to use an atty

There are a few steps that I take to prepare an atty for dripping or bottom feeding (essentially the same thing).

Optional: Usually take out the wick to prevent a burnt flavor from lingering. That comes from the wick most of the time.

A. If you do end up buying an atty with primer. Like the others have said, just blow it all out. Also, de-wicking is a little more important since that holds some of the primer in there.

B. Priming it:

*Drip 6 drops in there and let it rest for 10 minutes.

*Take a hit and if it still tastes dry then drip a few more drops.

C. Feeding it

*After you've primed it then you generally get 5 hits before you need to feed it again. I would wait until you taste a decrease in flavor. If you get a hint of a metallic flavor then feed it immediately.

*3 drops every time that you need to feed it.

#2. What atty to buy

If you don't want to mess with primer.

Then Cisco atties:

Atomizers - Avid Vaper

and

IKV:

Atomizers - IkenVape Store

Are known as the best in the industry.

#3. Do I just drip into it to test out a juice or do I also need to purchase a cartridge?

I would recommend just dripping since cartridges are flawed in it's design and performance. It's the reason why I went back to smoking for a few years. Since that was the only thing out at the time.

Hi lovinit
My kgo came with some lousy cartos in the box + some excellent Boge LR 2.0 cartomizers from dark city vapor. I am very impressed with the quality of these Boges. They are perfect for my kgo & I am waiting for 3 more packs to arrive tomorrow. So far 1 boge lasts 3-4 days for me

I just got my KGO and am in the same position Want to try new juices, but no atty. Another question, if you hate the flavor you dripped. How do you get it out of the atty, especially if there's a wick? I have some juices that are really nasty. (Used a water pik to clean the stuff out of my KGO cartomizers and they are drying - I'll see if they still work, but with the nasty juice in them they were useless anyways. Worked good and I don't smell the juice in them hardly at all. The string and spinning method didn't seem to work very well for me. I also pulled the stuffing out of one - can I "drip" on it?

Hopefully you have already found your answer by searching the forums but just in case... You can take your used attys and soak them in hot water for an hour or so and then shake/blow them out and soak them for 1-24 hours in Everclear/High Proof Vodka. Take them out and shake/blow them out and let them sit upside down for an hor to dry. This should get rid of most if not all of the old flavor.

You might also need to dry burn it after wards. This is where you basically install the atty without any juice on it, and press the button for 5-10 seconds then let off for a few seconds then repeat until all coils glow orange. As soon as you see the even glow then it is ready to use again. This burns off the caked on juice that that the vodka couldn't remove from the coils. This is much more difficult with a bridged atty as you can not see the coils so you are just left kind of guessing. Prime the atty with new juice and vape away.
