Newbie needs help with a brand-new SmokeRevolution PCC (3 pc)!

Hi, everyone. This is my first post, and I hope it's in the right place, etc. I'd hate to be in trouble with the Mods my first time posting!

In any event, I'm a 30+ year smoker who just took the big jump to vaping. I bought a SmokeRevolution PCC 3-piece model; I believe it's a 510 model battery. In total (based on what I've read here and elsewhere), I bought 2 batteries, 3 atomizers, 1 pre-filled set of carts, a bunch of blank carts, 4 different flavors of eliquid, and plastic caps for filled carts. Yeppers, they saw me coming! lol

Anyhow, I got everything charged up, put in a pre-filled cart and started it up. It worked just fine for about 4 drags... Then the ecig stopped producing vapor. I figured maybe it was a bad cart, so I replaced it with another pre-filled cart. SAME THING AGAIN! I've thoroughly read the "owner's manual"--a two-sided, quad-folded brochure--and checked out SmokeRevolution's video on YouTube. I searched the web and only found a few reviews of the unit itself. Needless to say, I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong!

The only thing I can think of is the carts: the pre-filled came with foil covers over the very top of the cart. Since the blank ones I bought obviously don't have foil covers and I can't imagine how one would use them with a plastic cap on, it made logical sense to remove the foil. Was that the wrong thing to do?

Does anyone have any suggestions? I've emailed SmokeRevolution (trying to contact them via their site is another saga unto itself) but hope that, in the meantime, one of you super smart people out there can help!

Thanks,

Lauren

UPDATE: I just got an email from SmokeRevolution--a little over 20 minutes after my inquiry--and Fernando suggests that it's one of two things:

"(1) the cartridges were not correctly prefilled or (2) you are making long inhalations and therefore the ecig atomizer is burning a lot of liquid at a time"

I'm going to try another new pre-filled cart and try his suggestion. Still, if anyone else has any ideas, I'd love your input! Thanks.

Do you mean it actually does not work, does not light? You may be dragging too long if it has a short safety cutoff. Does the tip flash then it refuses to work for a bit, then works again?

My Joye brand (not a clone) 510 has a at least a 10-second cutoff. I have manuals (for the sealed threaded end, easier to get a good hit) and if I press the button in 2-seconds early then do an 8 seconds drag with it on (all my mouth will hold), it does not cut off. That's a lot longer than I usually drag but some ecigs have a 5-second cutoff and that can be too short. And some actually disable the battery for 5 to 30 seconds after a safety cutoff occurs.

Or do you mean it works and lights but you don't get vapor? Check the cartridge stuffing's position and dampness in that case. Also make sure there is no liquid between the atomizer and the battery.

Also - if you have auto batteries, have you spilled/leaked any juice onto the end of the battery? Even a small amount of juice, if it gets in that end hole on auto batteries, can make the drag switch sticky. ANd then the battery may turn off slowly after a drag, so slowly that it triggers the cutoff. Worst case, juice inside will short the battery and kill it (and that goes fro any battery, auto or manual, that has an open hole in the end - I killed an old KR8 manual with a hole during the hurricane when my power was out and I could not see that I overfilled the cartomizer).

BTW - I have a similar PCC from NoSMokeVA.com for my short 510's. Theirs has shaped battery tubes to allow for the manual battery's button (leaves room for the button in the NW and SE corners). You may have the same PCC. And I did see a mention of your model having a 510 atomizer so I guess it is 510.

If your taking a long drag and the tip flashes 3 or 4 times it's hit the auto cut-off and some of them can take up to 2 mins to turn back on. It maybe a good idea to see about getting some manual batteries, they don't have the auto cut-off. Also you may need to take some time between drags to let the e-liquid wick back down to the atomizer.

Thanks, dormouse and BardicDruid! I think it IS my dragging too hard on the thing... I swapped the cart (pre-filled by SmokeRevolution) and eased back on my drags. So far, so good! I think you're both right about the cut-off since it did that to me last night, flashing LED and all. I'll pay closer attention until I get the swing of this...

Thanks again!

What you have will be fine for starting, but it would be better if you knew if the polarity matches a real Joye 510. That way you'll know if real Joye 510 batteries will be safe in your charger cable and PCC.

But you could get a Joye mega xl manual battery for at home and get a Joye 510 charger cable for it and just label your Revolution charging cable and only use it for your Revolution batteries. The mega xl Joye brand manual is very nice for at home - more charge, cutoff should be much longer, totally sealed metal threaded end. You could put your atomizer on it and use a 510 drip tip to test juices on it. Use Boge (standard resistance) cartomizers without worrying about a carto leak damaging the battery. I always vape more at home. When out I use short normal 510's and the nice PCC as well as a KR808D-1, and when home I don't need a PCC so I use the Joye 510 mega xl manual batteries and KR808D-1. I have some fat batteries and a little mod box as well. But I do most of my vaping on the slim ones.

And I recommend these 4-port 2000mA (2 amp) USB to AC adapters - charge up to 4 assorted ecig batteries or PCC on one electrical socket.

And there is a more international version RUC6181
