I'm waiting on my (Provari) first PV to arrive and I also ordered a small sampler premium pack from Provape as well just to get going. I've been smoking Marlboro reds for the last 25yrs now.. damn...

I ordered the 24mg nicotine.. Should I have ordered 18mg?

also. Does the percentage of nic change the flavor of the juice?

whats up with PG / VG ratio?

wow. there are soooooo many flavors to choose from, how does one find the one they like without breaking the bank. lol

TIA

you'll have plenty of chances to order different juice. 24 mg might be kind of harsh, dunno. There is some bitterness to the nic. The base is a topic a lot of people get excited about, I don't. A mix is nice. Order the specific samples of juices you see recommended more than once. Don't try to buy a bunch from one place. Shipping is generally really cheap. You get a lot of chances to shop. You need supplies for every week. Don't buy a bunch of juice. Your tastebuds might change dramatically.

Samples...lots of small samples...and your tastes WILL change. Try tobacco, fruit and dessert flavors. You will eventually settle on a basic palate and vendor...then you can narrow things down.

Nic level needs may also change over time. You may need 24mg to start, but 18mg or 12mg later on. Listen to your body on this. Too high, jitters. Too low, cravings. More nic tends to be a little harsher perhaps...a little more throat hit.

PG/VG - PG carries the flavor. VG the vapor. I think about 70%PG/30%VG is about average...many like more VG. I find higher PG dries me out so I prefer about 60/40...but everyone is different.

Hope that helps.

I was a Marlboro Reds smoker for 23 years and find 24 mg.s to be just right. 18 will serve, but eventually I need a bigger hit. Everyone is different, but don't worry about 24 being too high. If it seems a bit high, just take lighter puffs. But if you're like me, you'll be just fine.

PG/VG can be something to pay attention to. But mostly because VG tends to be thick and may be too thick to wick properly in clearos. Some people find they have a sensitivity to PG, so they prefer mostly (or all) VG. I've read that it may not be the PG after all. But that PG carries nicotine better, so it hits harder. The only way to determine if that is a problem is by vaping pure PG with zero nic. If it doesn't bother you, then the nic is too high. But again, if you were a heavier smoker of full flavor Marlboros, I doubt 24 mgs will be too high for you.

Generally speaking, most people use a PG/VG ratio of 50/50 up to 80/20.

Finding the flavors you like: Order lots of smaller bottles. When you find one you really like, get some larger bottles of it. It's a long process. I'm still trying out more and more companies and flavors even though I've found a good 8-9 I could be happy with for a long time. Think of trying new things out as half the fun. :)

And personally, I haven't found nic% affects the flavor at all. But I've only been off smoking for a little over 2 months, so my tastes haven't returned 100% yet.

I agree with pp's samples samples samples!!! I still get loads of samples along with bigger bottle of some stuff I know I like. VG could be a problem in clearos. Some places use high quality vg which is nice and thin and some don't. 50/50 should be fine in clearos.... that is what I should have gotten but... hey I am playing around with my ratio's again because of clearos. When I was a die hard 100%vg person. seems to be more smooth and thick vapor. That being said with the ratios I go with pg I don't notice as much of a difference anymore in feel. Which was my main factor for getting vg.

I think Nic is spicy. I have noticed any juice I get or taste with high nic is spicy on the tongue and strong on the throat. I don't like it. I would rather have low nic and vape more. But yeah... that is going to be a person pref thing too.

I would 2nd the trying of several types of flavor profiles. And don't just base it at one vender. You may like backed goods from one and tobacco from another. I just recently found out that in addition to sweet vape (I am not a big sweets person in real food) I like flower vapes. It may sound weird. But you really never know what you are going to like to vape. Even some flavors that you normal can't stand in food you my love to vape. Yes, it's that weird.

Welcome to the wonderfully weird world of vaping! Have fun trying all those flavors!
