Hi Kay,
Glad you have a plan. I debated with myself for a long time and ecigs was really a godsend to me. Marlboro man for 30 years and stopped without any craving. I found the ecig delivered the nicotine I needed and tasted so much better without the smoke stink and ashes. Its only been a couple weeks and my lungs are starting to clear up too so keep going. Have a coffee flavored ecig with your morning coffee. They really compliment each other well or try some other flavor like chocolate with your coffee (if you are a mocha fan). Far better taste than your old analog. Also, you may want to step up to some 18 mg as the 11mg might be too light for you right now and is making you crave that analog.

Thanks for your encouragement. I am happy to hear you are doing so well. That is awesome!

Your right, I agree with you on the coffee flavor carts. I got some with my first order from V4L and I love them. Tasty!
I will get some higher mg carts to have on hand.

Hi Everyone! My name is Kay and I am a newbie to e-cigs. 2 pac a day analog (marl lite) smoker here and I haven't had one in 36 hours. :D That's not long I know but, it's a start & nonetheless exciting to me. I'm looking forward to learning, sharing, & getting to know ppl.

Hello and congrats....I was a 2 PAD smoker also and to me 36 hours was an eternity and not even possible, hell I only slept 5 -6 hours a night so thats the longest I went without for years. Anyway..... welcome and good journey.

Congrats! For me the first 48 of quitting analogs was the worst. It got a lot easier after that for me. I'm a little over a month now. I find that keeping track of and celebrating your progress helps alot.

Congrats on being a month+ already. That's great!

Thanks for your advise on keeping track of my progress. I will certainly do that.

Thanks Lisa. That makes sense.

Morning and after meals will be my breakthrough craving times. Mainly mornings though...I'm so use to waking up w/coffee and a analog....or 10. ack!

Move over old habits...I'm coming thru!

Yea those were my toughest times also.... think about getting higher nic levels ( or a juice with a strong TH) for those times... I vape 18mg and have done so consistently since I quite about a month ago.... I smoked American Spirit mediums, which are really high on tar and nicotene, just to give you an idea of a mg dosage.

I'd definitely recommend stepping up the juice. I started at 24mg, and have stepped down to 18mg, and it's noticeable. I've also got some 11mg juice here, and I know when I'm using it - I can't use it all day - I need to swap out for a stronger kick at points.

I would also suggest skipping the analog if possible. No sense revisiting bad habits... I know I kept the remnants of my last pack (3.4 full!) "just in case". It sat in my breifcase for 3 weeks before I tossed it out.

Yea Im with you on not revisiting the bad habit... I always told myself (and anyone else) "hell, if I could stop for 3 days I would never smoke again" ... well its been damn near a month and I still got 5 or 6 grits in a pack in my truck that I havent touched in a month.

I have 4 full unopened packs of analogs. I thought about giving them away to someone that smokes, but then I thought no because I am not about promoting analogs to ppl. IDK what I will do with them to be honest.

Well, here's more welcome and support:

WELCOME!!!!

There's no 1:1 connection between smoking and vaping. So, I'd get a few different nic levels, and maybe something to cut it with if too strong...

Someday, in the not-too-distant utopian future, some smart vendor will have starter packs with different nic level samplers and cut solution!!!! That would be cool.

Hola! Best of luck, I know for me it has been a great relief to quit analogs. You can do it!

Thanks!

Yes, it seems like it's been longer than it actually has. I'm surprised how smooth it has been so far. I haven't had the urge to go postal on anyone, so all may be well. LOL.

I've had some breakthrough craving, thinking I may have to up my cart mg on my next order. I have smoked analogs for almost 30 yrs and have failed miserably at quitting so many times that I had resolved to quit quitting. Until now!

My first kit is from V4L. I am not familiar with all of the terminology etc yet, but to start out...I got the XL Auto batts and auto PT. And pre-filled carts.

Welcome! I think the 11mg is too low. I would suggest going up to 18mg - and maybe have some 24mg on hand for your morning coffee. Many people use different nic levels throughout the day.

I started with V4L on 36mg because that's what I needed to keep me off the analogs. After a few months I dropped it down to 24mg, which is pretty much where I've stayed. Also, you may want to try a manual XL battery - it gives you more control over the vaping.

You're doing great!

congratulations on stopping analogs!! i myself have been analog free for a little over a month. i smoked marl lights and american spirit lights and 11mg didn't cut it for me. i'm at a 24mg and it has to been great. i use to keep a pack in my truck for back up too, but i never needed them, or even thought of them. instead i made sure i had back up atties, cartos, and batteries. welcome to the vaping world. the Houston area has vapor meet ups every once in a while you should check it out.

rkayw - you are right it takes a bit of time to learn the terminology. I would suggest you go to ECF forum "library" there you will find six thread categories that take you through the terminology , what, and how’s of e-cigs and vaping. I found it very helpful when I started. Here is the link address The ECF Library
