Hello all. New to the forum, and to the whole ecig thing in general. I got my first PV a week and a day ago, and haven't smoked an analogue since. I was a 1.5 PAD smoker prior to switching over. I've even got a carton of Marlboro Lights sitting with one pack missing that I haven't really felt the urge to touch. :)

It's funny, because I got an ecig basically out of curiosity and because I'm a geek and it appealed to my gadget lust. I had no intention of quitting smoking, really, it just kinda happened. LOL

Anyway, during my research my google searches kept leading me back to ECF, so I figured I may as well join up. :)

Thanks so much for the warm welcome guys and gals :) I've been smoking since I was 14, so it was a 20 year habit that just disappeared overnight, with zero effort. I'm floored, honestly, as are many of my friends and family members.

I'm actually in the process of switching my mother over as well, and several friends have shown serious interest. I run karaoke on weekends at a local bar, and last weekend I think I spent half the night explaining what my ecig was and how it worked, and letting some of my closer friends take a couple drags. The girl who was with me kept stealing it from me, because she liked the taste better than her analogues.

One beautiful thing is that my boss is fine with me vaping in the office, so I can sit here at my desk and vape away the day ;)

Sorry, I'm rambling a bit, I do that when I'm excited about something new, heh

Me too :)

When I go to a Bar ( or other such establishment ) I show the proprietor what the e-cig is, or whatever manager is available, I usually demonstrate it for them.

Every single one I have been too has told me... no problem you can use that in here anytime.

It is a matter of respect, it is their property, and it is better to do so with their support than in their face so to speak.

You catch more flies with honey has been my experience, has worked in Bars, some restaurants, A Major League Ball Park in Chicago, even once in an Airport ( not however on the plane )

I too am amazed at just how good this works

Well, there is no issue at all with using them in bars here, as any 21+ establishment can still allow smoking, and most do. I did speak to my server at the O'Charley's I go to a few times a week for lunch, but that turned out to be no big deal either, because apparently their manager just switched to ecigs to quit smoking :)

The biggest boon has been that my boss is completely OK with me vaping in my office.

I live in California... and you cannot smoke in a bar here, in fact if you look like you are smoking people may treat you as a lepper.... but every one I have been to.. you can now vape, they told me they didn’t have a policy before they met me.... and now they do... vape away. :)

At work I took mine outside to vape ( as the smokers do ) and my boss asked me why I was going outside, both my boss and my co-workers approached HR and HR came back with the policy that it was ok as long as no one complained.

I think it helped that it was not me, but them asking HR

Sounds like you have done well in that area also.
