Welcome to ecf.
There are many members here from across the pond and a lot of them help out here in the new members thread. I am sure one or three will be along shortly.

:)

oops see now one has already arrived.

Are you planning to make your own line of e-juice, or just for personal use/friends family? I've been DIYing for a couple of years and cannot believe how many people think it's a dark art, and then spend all their money on a 30ml bottle from the US only to find out that it's "average". Be interested to follow your journey if you're going to create your own brand. Be safe and keep up to speed with the TPD regs!

I love mixing! I've found a few recipes I like and bought larger bottles of flavoring for those. When I see I recipe I want to try I buy small bottles of flavor first and then see if I like it. I can't help with the U.K. part of it but I hope you enjoy your mixing!

1. Get a scale. If you mix by weight, there's no cleanup
2. Get a juice calculator, like ejuicemeup. This takes all the guesswork out
3. Don't try making your own recipes at first because most of them will not work out. Look for a few recipes that look tempting and have good reviews and write down the ingredients you need. Pay attention to the maker because strawberry from FlavorApprentice might not be the same as strawberry from FlavorArt. A good site for recipes is e-liquid-recipes
4. Order small sizes of flavorings. Chances are you'll barely ever use half of what you buy.
5. Make small batches to test the recipe. 10ml is a good size. Smaller than that is hard to measure the ingredients. If you don't like and have to scrap it, it doesn't cost much.

Well, we try our best.
I did want to make one comment. You go to a big vape meet and ask people who make their own liquid how they do it and a few things tend to crop up.
Single flavor mixes are very difficult to get right (% flavor) and when you get them right, well, they can either be boring or you actually don't like it much.
Two or three flavors seems to work easier - somehow even 3 versions of essentially the same flavor mixed at 5% each tastes better than 15% of just one. I've yet to find a Capella that just works, but mix Capella with Inawera and TFA plus some EM or Menthol and wow! ...you might have a really solid liquid.
In fairness, starting with a known recipe is wise.
You can also buy one-shot concentrates. Some come with instructions on the % to use. If they are under 10% I tend to make them stronger regardless. If they are 20% I tend to back off. The only recipes I might make under 10% total are tobacco types... and then leave them for 2 weeks or so.
