Newbie To Vaporizing, Need Suggestions

Greetings everyone, I'm new to the whole vaporizing scene. I bought an E-Luminate e-cig about a month ago and loved it at first, but started to notice the battery wasn't lasting as long as it did nor was the vapor hitting my throat as good as it once did. So now I'm looking to upgrade and get something better. I know everyone advocates the Provaris but I just can't afford it. My question is what can I get that is going to be as close as possible to a Provari but not as high in price. I'm looking to spend approximately $80 to $100. I want to make sure whatever I get is going to last me as long as possible, gives out good vapor hits that I can feel in my throat, and is going to be reliable. I've been viewing some of these threads and saw some suggestions like the Vamo V5, Sigelei V5, and the iTaste SVD. Are those essentially the best picks out there? I've also noticed that they only sell the mods and you have to buy the batteries, tanks, and tips separate? What exactly else would I need to buy after buying the mod? Thanks in advance for the suggestions and replies.

Hello TheDemonSin, welcome to the big ECF party

so yes your after a MOD, but don't wanna spring for a ProVari
all the rest are made in china so just take your pick of which one catches your eye
one of the best is the MVP - Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 - 101 Vape
no need for batteries/charger, lots of functions, durable, cheap (buy two)

but if you don't like that, one that catches MY eye is the Sigelei ZMax
- Sigelei Zmax - YouTube
- Sigelei Zmax V3 Telescopic

good luck, glad you stopped in, keep asking away... :)

I agree with this!! Get an MVP 2. Long battery life, awesome vapor production, no need to buy batteries, it can actually be used s a charger for your cell phone and iPhone/Pod/Pad. I love mine! I also have bought a couple of them for friends. It has 510 and ego threading so you can use it with just about any tank/delivery system. I can't say enough about the MVP, I just really like mine. If you follow the link above you can pick one up for just $39. They usually run about $80-90 so it's a great deal. I bought them for my friends there. (I got mine from Mt Baker- actually I won it from them!!) 101vape has wonderful customer service and the shipping is soooo fast!

Good Luck and Welcome!!!

Before I got into mech mods I was using a sigelei zmax. It worked pretty good. I've heard nothing but got about the Vamo and the itaste svd. It all depends what kind of carto you plan on using. What you will need to buy is some good cartos like a kanger protank or a evod those imo are some of the best cartos I've ever had. Plus you'll need a decent battery charger.

A carto is usually the term used for a caromizer, looks like you mean atomizer. Both pt's and evod's are bottom coil changeable atomizers and not carto's. A carto is a tube filled with fiber with a coil in it. One drips juice into the fiber then vapes it, or can punch holes in it and then use a carto tank. Although a carto is an atomizer, not all atomizers are cartos.

Yes that is what I meant. Sorry about that. I totally forgot about what they are really called. I'm just so used to referring atomizers as RDAs and RBAs

I started out with an ego twist. now I have a Vamo 5, MVP 2, and a smoktech SID. All very good affordable devices. i think you would be happy with any of these. My advice is to buy the device, batteries, and charger separate. the chargers and batts that come in the starter kits are not the greatest.

I gotta agree with the posters above that the Mvp2 is awesome. Its really small, its like holding a tube of toothpaste except shorter. And its only 40$ at 101vape and there is no hassle of buying batteries on the side and you can use it while its charging as well as use it as a charger for other things with usb type connection like an iphone etc. As for a tank, I would say the iclear 30 gives a good throat hit because its a dual coil. You could keep an eye out for the protank 3 which is also a dual coil but I havn't used it and there aren't too many reviews out yet cause its fairly new.

There are sub forums for the vamo. There are a number of threads for all the devices you are interested in. I suggest that you go and read up on each one. They all have pros and cons. I chose the MVP2 because I was stepping up from a Vision Spinner and the cost to go to a Zmax or vamo was much higher. For the $40 to $50 for the MVP2 I can experience the vv/vw and use all the toppers I have and buy myself time to do more research on if I want a Provari or one of the other devices. I also want to see what comes out down the road a piece before I put a couple hundred more dollars into this. Now I have money to save, buy more juices, or try several different delivery systems.

This is a great deal for a very nice battery. Like Shari and other posters said before me, it's a great battery and you don't have to buy any extras like replaceable batteries and chargers. You have to have some money to spend on heads and juices. :)

I have a Sigelei Zmax mini and I like it. Vamo 5 is a good mod and very popular also. So if you prefer a tube shaped mod, either would be a good choice.

Good luck and happy vaping.

MVP is a nice lower priced mod, but keep in mind it only goes up to 5V- in comparison to the provari, Vamo, SID and such which go to the full 6V. I ended up selling mine because of that since my favorite voltage is 5.2-5.3v. I was hoping that the MVP version 2 was going to go up to the 6v. Maybe they will consider bumping up their next version to the higher voltage/wattage. If so, I will gladly buy another one.

Innokin I taste mpv everyday all day and most of tomorrow . Its a no brainer I have had 6 of them I keep selling them on to
New vapors and getting another couple , and have nearly one of every thing and the I taste 3 is handy and stylish.

Yep lnnokin wins my vote I,,m now a very happy non log smoker, and can never to back

Wow, everyone is really advocating the Innokin iTaste MVP huh? OK, I'm willing to give it a shot! So, what else do I need to buy for it to work? Do I need to buy a tank and/or heads? If so which ones are suggested? I'm not real used to the terminology yet so are heads basically the mouthpiece? And the tank is, basically the tank where you fill the juice into right? LOL!

I also recommend the MVP2 from 101vape. It should last you a long time. It will come with an iclear30 which is great, but I also bought a Protank2 which I like even more. I think when people mention 'heads' (please correct me if I'm wrong), they are talking about the atomizer heads (or coil replacements) that you'll need to replace periodically and you can find those relatively cheap. I need to get some myself. 101vape is out of the 2.5ohm atomizer heads right now ($4.99 for a 5 pack) so I'll search around, and I think I heard you can pick up some replacements for the iclear30 at discount vapors. Good luck with the MVP. You will love it!

OK, so I just ordered the iTaste MVP2 with a Protank 2. The overwhelming suggestions to buy it and the affordable price point made me want to try it. Now, what brand of liquids are the best to buy?
Good for you for ordering it! You really will love it! As far as liquids go, personally, I've ordered from Halo, Heather's Heavenly Vapes, Ahlusion, Nickoticket and ECBlends. A lot of good ones, imho! You might check out the e-liquids forum and see what other vapers have tried and liked too, also check out the company's website and see what appeals to you. It's really subjective on what your taste is (if you like tobacco flavor, fruit, dessert, drink, etc). I've heard Backwoods Brew and Highbrow produce good liquids too, just haven't ordered from them yet. Good luck!
