Newbie To Vaporizing, Need Suggestions

Greetings everyone, I'm new to the whole vaporizing scene. I bought an E-Luminate e-cig about a month ago and loved it at first, but started to notice the battery wasn't lasting as long as it did nor was the vapor hitting my throat as good as it once did. So now I'm looking to upgrade and get something better. I know everyone advocates the Provaris but I just can't afford it. My question is what can I get that is going to be as close as possible to a Provari but not as high in price. I'm looking to spend approximately $80 to $100. I want to make sure whatever I get is going to last me as long as possible, gives out good vapor hits that I can feel in my throat, and is going to be reliable. I've been viewing some of these threads and saw some suggestions like the Vamo V5, Sigelei V5, and the iTaste SVD. Are those essentially the best picks out there? I've also noticed that they only sell the mods and you have to buy the batteries, tanks, and tips separate? What exactly else would I need to buy after buying the mod? Thanks in advance for the suggestions and replies.

I agree the MVP 2 for $40 is a great deal I got one and just ordered one for a friend. And I would advise getting one even if you get another mod because the MVP 2 is a great back up too.

But if you really want a ProVari keep a eye on ProVape's Clearance they sell brand new ProVari's with a scratch or blemish on them. Or you can get a used one. Another thing to keep an eye open for, is the accessories you will need if you do plan on getting one. Charger, batteries, and tanks. With Black Friday coming up you should be able to get some deals on that stuff. Because a Satin silver ProVari with no accessories is only $159.95 and look for them to go on sale around X-mas time.

OK, so I just ordered the iTaste MVP2 with a Protank 2. The overwhelming suggestions to buy it and the affordable price point made me want to try it. Now, what brand of liquids are the best to buy?

Wrt to juice I have only one advice--buy small samples from popular vendors. Trial and error. Even though taste is subjective, flavor isn't (or at least shouldn't be.) If you like coffee and read some reviews of 'best' coffee juices, you may find something you like.

OK, so I just received my iTaste MVP with Kanger pro tank 2. I'm already loving this. I put the Kanger pro tank on and could definitely notice the difference between that and the iClear. I took the pro tank off to refill and tightened the base too tight, when I put it back on the iTaste it wouldn't fire up. I tried to take the base off the Kanger pro tank and it was too tight I couldn't even take it off. It won't work now, I think I might have tightened it too much and damaged it. Looks like I'm going to have to replace it. The iClear is working fine, still gives me good hits, but not as good as the Kanger pro tank. Now the iClear tank had a plastic piece inside the tank that connected to the coil, I'm not supposed to remove that right? Also, how often will I have to replace parts in the iCLear tank, and which parts? Same question for the Kanger Pro Tank. Oh, and what are the differences between the VV and VW settings? Should I be messing with those?

~sounds like you screwed the protank 'to tight' onto the MVP
which pushed the MVP battery connection farther inside, now not able to touch
and you ALSO tightened the base too much INTO the protank ??
only thing that needs to be TIGHT TIGHT, is the coil into the base
all the rest just 'snug' up...

~that silicone 'piece' on top of the wicks on the i30 is the seal for the mouthpiece/tank
and needs to be there--when you screw the mouthpiece in, notice how it 'seats' on it...

~when should you scratch your nose? when do you get a drink? when do you eat?
when do you change coils?--same answer for all ; YOU JUST KNOW
the performance starts dropping off, and you know somethings wrong...
you then replace coil / renew coil / or rebuild coil (all depends on HOW YOU vape)

~the VV / VW are the settings you adjust to get different power output to your coil in the tank
not a giant difference between the two so suggest until you get more familiar with using MVP
to just focus on the "V" (looks like U) ALWAYS start low (3.3) test vape and see how it works
then if needed increase V 3.4-3.5, see how it vapes, repeat, etc.

I didn't tighten the pro tank onto the MVP too tight, I tightened the base of the pro tank onto the pro tank itself too tight, that's how I may have damaged it. The iClear tank works perfectly fine on the MVP.

So how exactly do you replace the coils? Is it just a simple unscrew?

yepper, just that simple - spin coil out, spin new one in...

hmmmmmmm, can't vision a reason screwing base to tank TO TIGHT
to make unit not work (leak maybe)
you can screw the base/coil onto the battery without a tank and it would work

If there is nicotine in the air you inhale, there is nicotine in the exhaled air? I'm not in direct contact with my children but in the same room when I use the e-cig.


I can not find any studies on this topic.
