I have been smoking somewhere between 3 and 10 cigarettes per day for about 25 years.
Last night my sister hooked me up with a few drags off her new RN4081 (NPRO) after dinner.
This was the first time I had ever tried an electronic cigarette, and I am pretty excited about it.

I have been reading this forum all morning, and saw the video by Spikey, so I think I am starting to get a decent handle on the the various types and models, and the pluses and minuses of each.

Smoking as (relatively) infrequently as I do, I don't think that battery life will be so much of an issue, but I could be wrong.
I don't inhale deeply or take big drags in general, so I don't think I need a ton of vapor, but I could be wrong.

The one thing I do know is I want something close to cigarette sized.
I understand that neither the battery charge nor the cartridge life is going to be optimal for something that size.

Finally, I should probably point out that money is no object, and yet I still figure I will eventually be refilling my own cartridges.

So I am leaning towards the DSE 910 but I would like thoughts on how it compares to the RN4081 (NPRO) since that is the only thing I have ever tried. I am also wondering if there might be any other good options for my circumstances that I have not yet considered before I go out and buy all the extra parts I need for backup.

Some information that might factor in the decision...

I do plan to clean my atomizer frequently.
I do plan to refill cartridges myself.

I would appreciate ANY input, suggestions, or thoughts...

Thanks!!

Welcome deadcat, being really new to these myself, I only have experience with the DSE 801 and the DSE 901, They both seem to work well for me, decent vapor, the 901 battery lasts about 2.5 hours for me and I am sucking on it constantly.

Having not tried any others I can't be much help however I would say my wife and I are very happy with our new toys.

Each PV has ups and downs built into it....based on a multitude of factors....my suggestion is - just pick one. Any one. You've got it narrowed down to two - so pick one on whatever criteria you deem most important.

Get the gear in your hands. Get some juice in varying nicotine strengths. Experience vaping. Then alot of the information on this forum is going to click, because you've got a common frame of reference.

You will most likely change gear, because your needs are going to change as you do, from smoker to vaper. But your first gear can always be used as a backup.

And welcome to our forum....kick back, relax, and enjoy the ride!

You'll hear a lot of opinions on favorite models, and I have my obvious biases now, but you aren't going to find anyone that has much negative to say about the 510's. I have my personal favorite, but it's a fairly new product. I recommend the 510 for that reason. It's a great starter, and even now mine are backups. I know if my personal favorite dies, I can reach three feet, pick up my Dura-C, and get a great consistent nicotine fix every single time.

So, yeah, I bought a NPro because I was heading from San Diego to Palm Desert for Father's Day.
And there was a Pilot Travel Center on the way there that had them in stock.

Last night I tried to use it but failed.

I was able to get some smoke at first, but it tasted like crap.
I knew I probably needed to wash out the primer but it wasn't the right time or place for that.
And after sucking down some of that primer for awhile it pretty much stopped working.

This morning I washed the atomizer out and put it in the warming oven to dry.
I also fully charged the battery overnight.

So I have the thing working pretty well now.
And I have learned a little more about what I like and don't like.

I've decided that I don't care if it looks like a cigarette or not.
And I've decided that I want bigger cartridges.
And I've decided I want an easier draw.

And I've decided that it's a whole hell of a lot better than cigarettes.

So I ordered a Joye 510 starter kit today, and it comes with two atomizers and two manual batteries.
I also ordered extra blank cartridges and another manual battery.
I really wanted a Janty Dura C but could not get one anywhere.
So I sure hope they are the same damn thing.

And I also ordered an extra atomizer for my NPro model.
And I ordered about 10 extra blank cartridges for that as well.

And I ordered Tennessee Cured, Kona Coffee, and Vanilla Ice Cream from Johnson Creek.
I also ordered a syringe although I'm not sure if I will need it or not.
But I probably will for the NPro to whatever extent I keep using it.

Now I'm reading up on the legislative issues that are going on.
And it's pissing me off already.

So I guess that's pretty much it for this thread then.
