Hi

Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. I've been vaping for about a week, and so far my first impression is: "meh".

In the last week I've had bad experiences with:

- My device (510 - don't like it AT ALL, although that could possibly be because of the juice I'm using)

- My juice (the premade flavours I have have literally zero taste and the concentrates I have to mix with taste like dirty feet - I'm not exaggerating there! Also, the trial and error process with mixing my first DIY juices is extremely frustrating). It pi$$es me off that sale of nicotine is illegal in Australia. OS juices are so expensive to ship :(

- Vendors (Spent $100 on new equipment which promised next day delivery 3 days ago and the order hasn't even been processed yet!)

So I'm here to get some faith back in the whole process. I really want this to work, but after spending about $250 so far on stuff I am about to just throw out (or not even receive!!!!), on an extremely tight budget, it's all just very disheartening.

I know this sounds very girly, but I had a massive cry out of frustration last night after spilling almost a whole bottle of PG all over myself and the table. It was kind of the straw that broke the camels back.

I KNOW it's worth the trouble, but I just can't seem to get over that noob hump. Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for letting me vent <3

do or do not. there is no Try. the force is strong with you. picking up a cig, is tantamount to turning to the dark side:evil:. search your feelings my apprentice. you know this to be true. obi wan never told you about your father. just kidding. i'm not your father. try to remember the taste of your absolute first cig. it probably tasted worse than the foot cheese you are trying to vape. it is an acquired taste like cigs. you have to get used to it. learning to mix on your own?, small amounts. practice makes perfect. if you fall?, pick your sorry self off the floor, and keep going. failure is not an option, the rewards outweigh any bad experiences. with real change comes suffering. at least you will be able to appreciate success when it comes. what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. i promise the cigs are killing you. may the force be with you.:toast:

Hiya RocketQueen. Sorry to hear you're having some horrid frustrations. I spilled a cartomizer tank of liquid all over my really nice keyboard the other day, I just sat there and stared at it for a few minutes  Once you get 5 posts (you need that to post outside of the newbie area) I would suggest you post in the Australia-New Zealand section of the forums asking about what vendors they use, and maybe you could find someone willing to do some trades or ship you some flavors they aren't using. That way you'll get it a lot faster.

Finding the right juice, and putting a Mini Vivi Nova on top of my eGo is what got me to kick the last of the cigarettes. Oh how the right flavor can make the difference!

I would also suggest buying some flavorless liquid if you literally hate all the flavors you've tried. That way it won't taste gross, you'll get the nicotine, and hopefully replace the analog habit until your taste buds recover, b/c after you quit for a while your tastes will change, at least mine did. My favorite flavor before I had completely quit the analogs, is now one of my most hated :p

Anyways, good luck to you and DON'T GIVE UP!!! It is so very worth all of the trouble!

Hi Rocket. Welcome to the forum. Please don't give up yet. We have all had our trials with bad equipment and juices, but we hung in there and kept at it. Once you get a good ego sized battery with some power it makes a lot of difference. Reading on the forum will help and before long you will be up to speed. I found the hardest thing for me was eliquid, it takes a bit of trial and error to find those you like. I actually went to diy and there is a whole forum section here on that.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

I don't want to give up, I'm just not taking to it as quickly as I would have liked. The main problem is that I'm almost completely clueless and have zero patience. If I want something, I want it NOW! I've always been like that with everything. I started looking into vaping in order to quit smoking analogues. I got drawn in by the culture more than anything else. Still smoking my 2 packs a day :(

I've been a member of AVF (Aussie Vapers Forum) for a few days now and am slowly picking up bits and pieces of info from there. My brain just doesn't seem to be able to put all the information together and put it all into practice lol.

1) Welcome to ECF
2) Good work on deciding on harm reduction vs smoking.
3) Nic ban is STUPID...kinda glad I'm not "Down Under"...I'd be ...... too. Hope it never hits The States.
4) YOU CAN DO IT.

The e-cig stuff is...fiddly...at best. But the good news is there are combinations that work.

Sounds like you have some crappy juice. Now...try unflavored and maybe also DIY since you are in a restricted area. See the DIY section for more information on mixing your own flavors. Then you only need to worry about nic base...it's cheaper to mix your own stuff and frankly, easier to ship the concentrated stuff (if that is what you are allowed to do...IDK your laws). So... then you can at least get "simple flavors" that taste decent and can also play with the nic level, PG, VG ratios without having to re-order. It's not that hard to do. Or you can just vape 0 nic stuff if that's what your laws say......;)

Hi there RocketQueen:D

Please don't give up on vaping. Like most have stated, we all have our trials with vaping, but overall it is much better than then alternative. There are times I wanted to just give up too; I burned thru 4 cartomizers, my vivi nova and stardust both died and fell apart on me, then my Vamo battery died, and I looked over and forgot to charge the other battery. It was an utter nightmare. And to top it all off, the carto tank that I was trying to refill spilled everywhere.!!! :(

I think Klynnn is right, finding the right ejuice for you is essential. Once you find that first one you like, that helps alot.

Keep at it R.Q. and know we are all rooting for you!!! :headbang:

Also ....order some(2) 2.0 ohm atomizers, and a bunch of 2.0 ohm CE3 cartos with a filling syringe. Or select atomizers/cartos that you think you'll like. There's so many variables...

The super-mini cig-a-likes don't last long batterwise, or lifetime wise. So you'll need several batteries, or a "fat bat" type of unit to vape with. That gets into more that what you're probably asking......

3) Nic ban is STUPID...kinda glad I'm not "Down Under"...I'd be ...... too. Hope it never hits The States.

I know, right!?! Makes no sense to me whatsoever. Cigarettes with nic and every other chemical you can possibly imagine in them aren't banned... And probably never will be. You know why? $$$$$$$. Our ciggies are taxed to buggery. The powers that be are such hypocritical so-and-so's.

I have 4 0% juices which don't taste like anything and do nothing for me as far as quitting smoking analogues goes (tobacco, grape, red bull and some random flavour that I have no idea what it is. I can pretty much write them off as useless.

I got my nic juice (36mg), PG/VG and 4 concentrates yesterday. Well, after fiddling around with them for hours (after my 2 year old went to bed, so we're talking from about 8pm till about 2am), all I could get was the taste of dirty feet. V.I.L.E!!!!! After spilling ..... all over the place, I gave up. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong or how to fix it with my limited supplies. *sad face*

Since this isn't really the appropriate place to be discussing DIY I'll keep this really simple.

Keep it simple, Really. If you are smoking 2 pad you'll need 18-24mg/mL strength to get the "hit" you need. Mix up that base nic liquid and set it aside. Mix really small batches of single flavors ~5ml at a time, Let them sit for a few days. The flavors do not mix in immediately. After a few days try a sample of the single flavors using an atomizer. Atomizers let you test a flavor ~3 drops at a time. Don't rush trying to get off the cigs that will come with time.

Most importantly: Keep asking questions. You'll get it, It is worth the effort.

Oh yeah, start low with the favors, 3-7% If you add too much you don't get more flavor you get... "dirty feet".

This really is a case of less is more. Too much flavoring and the eliquid will scorch and will taste like blech.

Maybe that's my problem... Thanks! I'll give it another try this arvo.

i really suggest you ego t batteries with ce 6 clearomizer. It is the best and easiest you can use. You need 4-5 atomizer heads with this set. And get some strawberry flavored e liq. I guarantee you will love it.

I ordered an ego t with 5 spare clearos on monday. It's now thursday and I'm still waiting for it to arrive. Apparently "next day delivery" doesn't mean what it used to any more. The slackers haven't even filled my order yet. NOT a happy camper!
