Hi! I'm a heavy smoker (3 packs daily) who's been working on making the switch from ciggs to eciggs/vaping over the last couple weeks. 1st week was easy, 2nd week ok, this week not off to good start - sickly sweet ejuice. I started with the markten ecigg (not much selection, but liked), then got a cheap no name vape pen (really don't like being spit at), and now have a istick pico with melo mini tank. I'm thinking of getting the aspire nautilus 2 to pair with pico as I lean more towards mtl, would they work? I also thought of taking the higher resistance ohms from the aspire and using them in the melo, would that work? Thank you!

The screw connector on your pico is a universal connection, so the nautilus 2 will work just fine. As to putting nautilus coils in a joytech tank, I don’t know but I rather doubt it. It’s not impossible though. If they fit they fit, and if they don’t they don’t.

Hello and congratulations on switching over from smoking to vaping! I’m sure you’ll get lots of great advice here. My only advice is in the beginning Keep It Simple esp if going thru withdrawals. My other bit of advice which sounds like you’re already doing is to read read read oh and watch videos on any everything vape related!

Good Luck sara

Hello and welcome. You might like Zeus E Juice single fruit flavors, they are not as sweet as some. Heather's Heavenly Vapes is a popular brand around here. If you have a local shop they may let you test their juices as well. There are also some sour juices available online like Sour Straws. just google sour e liquids and see what pops up. Hang in there it does get easier with time.

Hello and welcome to ECF! Congratulations on trying out vaping. Each vaping journey is different. I started mine in September 2017 and am still smoking about 5 cigs a day...as well as vaping. I too was a heavy smoker for 38 years so completely understand your struggles. If I need to keep duel using for a few more months then so be it. At least I am not smoking 25 cigs a day!

I MTL and have both the Nautilus and the Nautilus mini tanks. Personally, I prefer the Nautilus mini. For me, it provides a great flavour and has been completely free of leaks and spits. I also use 18mg nicotine.
I really wish you the best of luck. Be kind to yourself and keep asking questions. You will find plenty of support here.

The natulus 2 from what I have seen, and been told, has a pretty nasty leaking issue. I smoked about as much as you did, Tried the mtl tanks, HATED them. As a heavy smoker, I found the tanks for the direct to lung gave me a better throat hit, just more enjoyable. Personally, I use the baby beast. I tried the MTL, yea, never again.

Mtl or dl is a personal preference. Many smokers find it easier to change over to vaping with mtl rather than dl, some go straight to dl. You don't know the best fit until you try.

Juice recommendations are even tougher. Taste is so subjective that a juice I love may be horrible to you. It comes down to sampling several juices to find those that taste best for you.

Welcome to ECF. It can be hard at first finding that "great" vape for you, but a Nautilus 2 is a good choice. My experience was the tank never leaked if I didn't overfill it and checked O-rings frequently (there is a top chimney o-ring that can sometimes come unseated) and kept my tank clean. I think it's a good tank to try and it won't break the bank. I don't have a nautilus mini but there are folks that like them. I did have a regular nautilus that leaked like a sieve. Since I didn't like the vape in any case, I retired it.

Also, many other great MTL options like the Ego One Mega V2, but not with the coils it comes with but they Joytech CLR coils in 1.0 resistance. Great flavor and the coils are both rebuildable and rewickable, very easily .Will fit on your mod, and fantastic flavor, they make a 0.5 coil as well I believe.

Best of luck,

Anna

Thank you for the advice and support. Yeah, I've been doing a lot of reading. I've never tried to quit or switch before, never wanted to until now. I did manage to go a few days without ciggs and going back to one tasted like an ashtray - which I didn't expect. I am determined to quit ciggs and when I start to feel like a failure, I go back to reading and that helps some and finding this forum I think is gonna be a big help. I'm gonna research the tanks mentioned above and when my sickies with the flu go back to school, I'll try out one of the local vape shops. I look forward to the day when there are no ashtrays in my house.

Welcome and glad you joined.
The following list may help with some of the coil resistance choices.
