Hi all! A little background first. I've been a smoker for about 45 yrs.(started young) quit a couple of times, once for 8 yrs. but
always wanted one and always started up again. I started vaping about 5 weeks ago and only had 2 analogs since!(battery went dead)
I absolutely love it, can't get enough of it. Didn't know what I was buying when I started, just got lucky I think. Picked up an EGO C starter kit and a couple of vision clearos. Have upgraded to an EGO Twist and love it. Still looking for a killer vape but have found a few that I like a lot. French vanilla Keoke coffee, Mango and Watermellon. I started off with an 80/20 pv/vg mix, 18mg and am currently vaping 60/40 16mg. All of this from a small site I found, Vapors Choice, Ecigarettes & Parts custom blended excellent service and prices. As I stated earlier, I started out with a Vision Clearo, the disposable kind and have migrated to the Vision version 3 re-buidable ones. The problem I have now is a lot of gurgling and I continually get the juice in my mouth. I was just looking at the Kanger 2. Any advise? Also wondering how to clean the clearos. I tried some peppermint and it was just over powering. Can I just take it apart and rinse it out or is there another way.

Welcome and congrats! Your story sounds like mine. I quit smoking one month ago and no cigs since. Vaping has been my only answer after trying everything under the sun. Lucky you starting with an eGo C. I started with the cheap dime store Blu ecigs. Bought an eGo C after realizing the battery on the Blu only lasts about an hour as much as I was vaping. I also use the vision clearomizers on my eGo C. I just wash them out. Let them dry completely and re use them. I know there are ones you can rebuild but the ones I have don't. You can rinse them out with hot water. Then I let them soak overnight in Vodka. Then rinse again and blow them out from the end you attach to the battery. Let them sit again for a day to dry out. That has worked for me. Others use polident or a ultra sonic jewelery cleaning machine. If you are getting juice into your mouth you are flooding it. This should not happen. You can also dry burn but I don't like doing that. If not done correctly you can pop it. But there are many youtube videos that can help with the cleaning of different atty's.
I upgraded to a Reo Grand. They are pricey but awesome. You can go to reosmods to check into them. Might want to be something to consider down the road. Best of luck and keep using these forums. Many people willing to help out.

I use the eGo C and at one time also used vision clearomizers. The advice that irehc77 gave you is sound and I used to follow the same procedures to clean my carts.

However, I think you should check into the vivi nova tanks. The tanks can be taken apart for easy cleaning and the heads are fairly cheap to purchase and /or easy to re-build. (Which will save you money in the long run.) There are many videos about cleaning vivi nova tanks and re-building the vivi nova heads on You Tube. (An easy process)

The vivi nova tanks produce awesome vapor, are durable and cheap.

Congratulations on quitting analogs, good luck with your future vaping experiences and welcome to ECF

Hey MT Pockets...that coulda been my screen name if I'd thought of it. When my wife and I quit a month ago it was about the money. We were looking at our numbers and feeling pretty low, and the thing that screamed off the page at us was, we were spending about $3,200 per year on tobacco! I started out with the gum and my wife started flogging the cheap little no-name cigalike we got a year ago and shoved in a drawer the day we bought the next carton. I knew there had to be something better. Fortuitously, I happened to notice a vape shop that just opened a few months ago near where we live, and I dropped in one day. I walked out with a couple eGo's and a couple bottles of flavor. We became ex-smokers that same afternoon.

It's only been a month but already we can see a difference in our budget. In fact, just today we put a deposit on a doublewide in a nice park, something we could not have done while smoking. With the money we've saved on cigs, we have been able to take a trip with friends, go out to eat, and buy a couple more PVs. In other words, we haven't actually saved a dime this month, but the money has definitely gone to more positive things.

We now have a couple 510s as well as our eGo's, and a small collection of drip tips, tanks, and flavors. We've also bought one friend her own PV as a birthday gift. I'd estimate we've spent a total of $150 on vaping. Obviously we can't spend that much every month, but the equipment will last a while. We are so enthused and so happy we finally discovered vaping.

I discovered ECF shortly after beginning this adventure, and it is a GREAT community and GREAT source of information and inspiration. Stick around, you'll be glad you did. Pretty soon you'll be encouraging the newbies too.

i went a little crazy in the beginning. spent about the same as i would have if i had smoked. would have been happy to pay double for the chance i have been given. bought a starter for a friend to pay it forward.. with my current collection (of 1 mechanical PV, and 2 e-go back-ups) my expenses are down to juice and attachments. month 2 literally will pay for itself. by month three i plan to be down to 0 nic, and put down the PV as well. glad you made the switch. enjoy the new living space. :toast:
