Hey all. my names Cody. I recently got into vaping and am curious about a few things. I picked up a Vaporshark minnow, and it failed miserably. I used it for three days and the wick burnt, and when I had gone to there website to check for new tanks, because the atomizers were not replaceable. I realized they discontinued the tanks. I went off to a local store to see if i could find a new kit, and came across the KangerTech Evod, I got two batteries, and a Kanger Evod2 tank. My questions are, is this a decent kit to work with for the days to come? How do I "clean the coils" and why? and how do I clean the tank and why. Also will the atomizers from a kanger evod work on the evod 2 tank? Thanks guys and I really appreciate it.

Hey Cody, welcome to ECF. My back up vape is a Kanger EVOD so I can help ya out here. For someone brand new, this is a great one to work with. I found the battery to be reliable, extremely. It lasts a decent time, but has a tad bit of drop off as the battery gets low. But you have two batteries so that won't be an issue. Make sure you ask around or look up some stuff before you upgrade so you know what you're getting into past this point.

Coils over time get gunked up. As in they won't heat up as well and they won't produce the same flavor and vapor. When I clean my tanks which kind of run along the lines of an EVOD coil, I just use hot water from the tap and some tissues. Stick it down in the coil hole and just spin it a few times. Run it through more hot water and let it dry. Makes mine vape better every time.

The tank is easy as well. I again, just run it through hot water, take some tissue and whirl it around the tank (or q tips for the tough spots) rinse, and let dry or dry with tissues or paper towel. And you clean them so gunk doesn't build up and for when you switch flavors, you don't get some remnants of the old flavor.

And if it screws in and fits in the tank hole and then vapes, it works. As far as I know they do, my coils from my two completely separate company tanks are interchangeable in my Kanger T3S tank, not the other way around because the one has a larger post but ohwell.

Hope I helped a bit and happy vaping :vapor:

Hi EVOD 2 Tanks take a different coil then the original EVOD And its A dual Coil Replacement Head which works better,it also works with some of the other newer Kanger Tanks Like the Protank 3 and Mini P3. I soak my coil in Very Hot Water for about 30 mins then let them air dry for a couple of Days.

EVOD Batteries are good batteries. Are Yours variable Voltage or Twist Batteries-if not may the next up grade would be to try a Ego Twist type VV Battery. Also MPV 2's can be found for about $40 now. Good Luck and Welcome to the Forum

Thanks so much for the help people! My only problem seems to be after 3 days of vaping my vape tends to have a burning taste. It's happened to me twice now on 2 different devices, ill admit im a heavy vaper but i never anticipated an atty giving me a burnt taste after 3 days :/. I bought new coils but they guy didnt tell me the ones he sold me didnt work on my battery so now i have to exchange them for the right ones but ill only get 3 instead of 5 cause i opened 2 of them to try them :/ any suggestions on ways to avoid burnt taste? and or longer lasting attys? also my ejuice from VaporShark seems to be making my wicks turn invisible-ish (i noticed when i did some investigating on a burnt taste atty. Is that normal? the wick seems weak and almost gelatonized. once again thanks guys!

1: yes. the evod type starter is a very common starter setup nowadays.
2: clean the coils by dryburning; check youtube.
why: well you can keep buying new coils; within a few weeks you can easily spend the price of a new tank just on coils alone.
Or you can dryburn the coil and get 10 times more life out of them;
(then the wick falls apart, then you can get another 10 times more life out of them by rewicking with cotton; then finally the coil burns out; then you replace the coil {or you recoil with 30 gauge kanthal [and real good eyesight]}; then finally after all that, the little grommet at the bottom falls apart).
3: to clean the tank, just rinse and soak in hot water; or vodka.

yep 3 days is about how long I used to vape on 1 protank coil; that's time to dryburn.
