Hi,
I have read up quite a bit in the ECF forum with a lot of information (eg: KR8, 510, eGo, Provari, Stardust, Lavatube etc). But amidst so many words, i think i still cannot visualise it without having one on hand. I am a Marlboro light smoker since i was 18 years old. I smoke around 8 sticks per day. Currently, i am on Nicorette Gum but research shows that only 7% successfully quit smoking in the end. So i thought of trying out eCigarettes. However, there are so many models and flavours to choose from (80% PV, 20% GV?). In order to save the effort of browsing through so many texts, i wonder if the experienced can guide me a bit on the best option for me ? Most importantly, where to get it from ? I predict myself to be using this thing for a while and hence, i could possibly go for the long term usage kind of kit instead of the basic ones ?

Any advise would be appreciated please.

Thanks.

Hi, welcome. You have a unique situation being in Singapore. There are many models that would be good for a light smoker like yourself, but a large element of your decision is going to be what you can get there in Singapore. Hopefully some other members that are more aware of the availability there will be along. There are a lot of them.

Meanwhile, look at the stickie posts at the top of the page. Read the one titled something like "What model should I choose" and give some thought to what you're looking for. Do you need one that looks like a cigarette? Usually I don't recommend them, but if you only smoke 8 cigarettes a day and you need to be discreet, they might be what you need. Again, finding one of the very few good ones might pose a problem where you are.

For a starter kit, the kGo and e-Power are highly recommended. You might want to find out if those models are availble from a site that will ship to you. There is also a long thread in this section from someone else in your same situation and I'm sure it contains a lot of good information for you. You should be able to find it within the last 5 pages of this Beginner forum. Good luck.

I am not super experienced yet, but I will say if you are not hell-bent on something that totally resembles a cigarette, then I would prolly suggest a bigger battery like an ego style. But make sure you dont need something too close to a cig for it to get you off analogs. Otherwise, I think going straight to a bigger battery like an ego or even a mod will save you frustration and money in the long run. Trust me, after a month I am ready to upgrade myself from the 808/510 size bats. -Cru
