Hi all,
I've been reading a lot of the threads here and it's very educational. I am currently using a vamo and thought of getting into a mech, maybe a nemisis. So... of what I have understood, if I build a .6 ohm coil and if the battery is fully charged, it will draw a current of 7A from the battery?
If so is it safe to use a battery with 10A rating?
Also if I use a coil of 1.2 ohms, is it safer?

Thank you in advance...

Any advise regarding the 18350s and the rest?

A good name brand reliable 18350 battery like AW will have 6 amp limit, lot of people don't trust the purple Efest 18350 10 amp limit ratings.
Depending on build..you can probably get away with a rba like kayfun at 1.6 ohm and use 18350 safely..but battery life will suck.

I prefer a large buffer, so I build accordingly when I use 18350 battery for Mini Me mode...but I mostly use this at home..where I have few 18350s at home I can switch out...nothing sucks worse when you don't have enough battery life to get hit and for some that can result in going back to analogs if they are out and about.

Most regulated mods, adding a kick to a mechanical makes it regulated, keep track of most everything that will hurt you.

With a mechanical mod you MUST check the resistance of the coil. The my friend uses 3 wraps or 28 kanthal method of determining resistance does not cut it. This is a safety thing.

As the voltage of the battery drops you are getting less power. The problem is that in a mechanical you can discharge the battery too far and break it (the battery). The first time I used a mechanical I checked every 5 puffs. Now I can recognize the different way it feels as the battery drops.

I am not positive but in most cases the kick along with a one step shorter battery can be used in most mechanicals.
