Hey all,

Looking for some assistance to help keep me vaping. I've been vaping for a while. I recently got tired of using my pen with 510 atomizers. I moved to a Sigelei 150 watt pack with an Aspire Atlantis 2 tank on .5 coils.
I've been trying to find a good liquid and levels to use and I can't seem to find a good ratio. I am getting terrible vapor production, no flavor, and its making my lungs hurt when I have the wattage where it should be on a .5 coil. Or, I am getting a.. I don't want to say burning, but a terrible tingle feeling in my mouth with some liquids. I've tried seeping juices, I've lowered my nicotine level (18 to 15 to 12), tried playing with PG/VG ratio's... Nothing I've tried is helping..
Currently, I'm at a 30/70 (PG/VG) @ 12MG..
Should I go up to a 1.0 coil and see if that helps? Lower my nicotine levels? 18MG is just terrible when I vape it. (I was and sadly am a heavy smoker, since I've had problems, I've gone back to analog cigs)
Any assistance would be appreciated!

If you are subohming 12mg juice i would HIGHLY recommend you drop it to 6. Most subohmers are at 6 or 3mg. If you want to stay at that mg of nicotine then you should move up from subohming especially if it is that uncomfortable. I assume you are direct lung inhaling and not mouth to lung correct? ALso what wattage are you vaping your .5 coil at?

The only thing I know about high watt low ohm vaping is that your juice probably has too much nicotine in it. Most people who do that type of vaping use 6 - 1.5 mg. nicotine. Most people here know a lot more about that vaping style than I do so I am sure you'll get advice from someone else soon who can help you. One other thing that might help is that if you take your 12 mg. juice and mix it with the same juice with 0 nicotine, your juice will then be 6 mg. nicotine. Good luck! You will figure this out soon and I am sure there will be others who will come along quickly who can do a better job of advising you with your particular issues.

With the wattage in the 20-30 range I was told to use at the shop with the .5, its uncomfortable to vape. I have to drop down to about 12-15W to get a good draw, which I don't think is very good for the coil being that low.
You are correct to assume that I am direct lung inhaling, I might try that tomorrow and see if mouth drawing first before doing a full inhale decreases the discomfort.

I am currently vaping a .5 ohm coil using 6mg nic and i tend to vape around 35-45 watts. Seems to be my sweet spot on the current tank (Uwell Crown). I actually highly recommend that tank as the flavor surpasses my Atlantis v1 and V2 by miles. 15 watts is wayyy too low for a .5 ohm coil. I would say minimum 25 or so. I think your main problem is you should lower your nic to 6mg and then turn your wattage up to around 30-35 and work up from there. It will be tough to MTL on your Atlantis as its very airy. Stop by a vape shop and pick up some 6mg juice. I do believe you will be pleased with the results.

510 pen to Sigelei 150 + Atlantis 2 is a big, big step.
The shop was correct, in a way, to recommend using the 0.5ohm coil at up to 30w but should have suggested dropping down to 6mg at the most.
I often vape at 25-30w (not during the working day at work though) and find 6mg about right.
From 8am-6pm, I use a smaller rig, vape at half that power and double the nicotine (12mg).

You'll get there. :) Worst case, buy a more gentle tank and transition your way up to the Atlantis. The Eleaf GS tank or Aspire Nautilus would do the job nicely.

Maybe you should take a step back and go for a mod that handles high nic levels easier, like a pen style.thats prob why it tastes awful.I would also try a lower wattage on higher nic levels.if you go above say fifty it's goingto get nasty.but that's just me.someone else might have better advice, but if you want take a look at the kanger subvod.at full charge does about 38-40 watts, but you can not adjust the wattage,it just steps down as the battery life decreases.if you wantadjustable wattage the kanger nano 40 watt is a good place to start, that's what I started with, and it can handle the 35mil juice without the harsh taste and stinging throat.hope I helped :)
