I don't think it's worth trying to solder back on the board; if a short develops inside there it can be hard to stop; with a tube mod like vamo, zmax, provari, etc, if something starts happening you can pop the cap off and let the battery out, but inside one of those ego batteries, if some wire starts shorting out inside there, you're kind of helpless to stop it.

As for vaping off the wall, I got a universal ac/dc adapter and rigged up an adapter to connect it to a vamo control head.

Aww shame picture wont show sounds cool but what do you do when your out?

I use my regular vamo with an 18650 battery when I'm out. When my 18650's die out I'll probably get 18350's instead since I won't be using batteries as often; been a while since I charged a battery!

ref flavors: you might want to avoid darker colored flavors; they tend to gunk coils faster.

So what would you recommend
Irish cream
Coffee espresso
Coconut
Black cherry is what I was thinking

The only flavor I ever recommend to new vapers is unflavored.
If you don't like one shops unflavored or theres some part you don't like, it will probably also be in their other flavors because it would be all using the same base.

Figureing out what PG/VG ratio and nicotine strength you prefer, I think is really the important thing

Trying plain vg (glycerin) plus 20% water and no nicotine is certainly worthwhile; cause if you like it, you know you always got something to fall back on

I do like the flavors such as mango (currently vaping as I type) cherry and berry mix
Think il go black cherry and rum to try and I know your far more experienced and tell me if im totally wrong but surely I need to have a nicotine content as its replacing ciggies im currently on 18mg so you think I should go lower

I'm from the UK and know where Walsall is mate :)

I used to use a 70/30 mix with a crappy tornado-t but now I use a Vamo i find a 50/50 mixture to be a lot smoother.

As for flavours; I tend to avoid the tobacco ones (sweaty socks springs to mind) and I detest Blueberry with a passion :(

Like a lot of others on here, I've settled on a menthol mix. I buy 30ml of ice menthol for around 7 quid + postage from simply eliquid.

I have no interest of mixing my own as I've looked into it and it would be more expensive for me. Good luck though and let us know how you get on.

Haha another Englishman :) you not far away or something then seeing as you know the dump ;) and I like the idea of creating my own flavors im thinking the black cherry and Jamaican rum from flavourart the do a few different high vg mixes think ive settled on the
Velvet Cloud:-

contains 80% Vegetable Glycerine and 20% water (does not contain Propylene Glycol) ideal for those with a PG intolerance - more vapour, less throat-hit.
Just waiting to decide on the nicotine content

Don't be intimidated or worry about the gear you are using...most of the people I met at my local shops have been very helpful especially when they find out you're trying to quit smoking. Main point for them is to make vaping a great experience and get you off the stinkies. Mostly everyone I know that vapes started out with some kind of Ego battery and a tank or cartomizer. And the few snobs I know with expensive mods etc buy expensive stuff and then try to turn around and sell it to you at a hefty profit.

I was on 60 fags a day and 18 (or 1.8mg per ml) does me fine. I did start off strong but it was giving me head rushes because I'm a tart lol

I have tried Cherry in the past but I found it sickly sweet.

As for Walsall, I have been there but I was a kid at the time following Chorley FC. You beat us 3-1 :)

Haha I doubt i was born back then lol
And as for sweet I love my sugar and sweets maybe that explains why I have false teeth at 20 years old

I stopped smoking Aug 2013, so in terms of experience I'm not even a full year yet.
In terms of flavors, I have very little experience at all; eliquid too expensive to be buying stuff and end up not liking it, but perhaps more importantly - how stuff tastes depends a whole lot on your hardware; so it makes sense to focus on the hardware; you might taste 1 liquid today and call it crap, then tomorrow somebody puts it in a different rig and when you try it your eyes open wide.

As for nicotine strength, it is very usefull to have 2 tanks, 1 with a high strength and another with a low strength. Again, many experienced vapers can tell you, if you put your regular strength liquid on a good rig, you can find it way too strong and end up needing to drop nicotine strength.

Ok so I think il go for a lower nicotine strength il let you all know how it all goes im sure il be sticking arouns and sure il be getting some more upgraded kit at some point
I must say thankyou very much for all your help guys :)

Hello, and welcome.

You might find it helpful if you add UK to your location, then it will show on every post and people can see when offering advice, especially on where to order supplies.

A couple of good online e-liquid vendors I've used are Joose Juice, Apollo, and Steamgunk. They allow you to specify PG/VG ratio as well as nic level. I've also just placed an order with LT Ecigs which hasn't arrived yet so I can't comment on the flavours but the prices are definitely impressive! You might also look at Smoke Rainbow which sell 1ml samples - you can't specify PG/VG ratios or nic level, but they are clearly labelled so you know what you are getting, and it allows you to sample a variety at good prices.

Do be careful with the black cherry as it's one of the flavours that sometimes cracks plastic tanks. (Ordinary cherry is OK, just the black cherry you have to watch.) It's useful to have a glass or pyrex tank for these flavours such as a Protank/Mini. Myepack are good prices and very reliable for supplies.

I mix mine all the time, so I know you can do it. I mix both nicotine concentrations as well as flavors. It seems like I never have the same thing in my tank lol as it's always slightly different.
If you're not comfortable mixing, you can find some manufacturers make different percentages of nicotine so you might be able to find one closer to what you're looking for. I know Volcano offers slightly different percentages than the rest. I found some great e-liquid reviews the other day and a write up on the correct nicotine amounts at [edited]
