Hi, new to e-cig forum but not new to vaping. Been vaping for about a year using different stuff on and off. Started with a gPen(Terrible!) and ended up with a L4V4Tube XL(Came from Vapure, San Diego). I am assuming other people have this same device and can give me advice on it.

Currently all my ejuice comes from Vapure.. it is local and lots of flavors. My tanks come from Vapure also(Vision Vivi Nova 3.5mL(v3?)). Started browsing on GotVapes and looking at the different tanks and I have no idea what I want. The Nova is great but I do not get much flavor out of it(I have not tried to do any mods to it(Wick mods etc)) and would like some help or forum posts related to mods I can do to the Nova. I run 2.4Ohms(Could go higher if needed) and run the L4V4Tube at 4.2.

I saw the Glass Kanger v2 on GotVapes and noticed that Vapure carries them also. Is it a nice tank, easy to maintain/clean, and does it have a nice vapor cloud, draw, and flavor(Without doing mods to it?). I also noticed it looks like the tips cannot be exchanged for other 510 drip tips if I am correct? I really like 510 glass drip tips on my Novas. And yes I went to the tank review forum and read some stuff, but mostly they were just comparing them to other tanks(Did not see a v2 ProTank vs Nova though).

Ultimately I would like to try a v2 ProTank but still receive input on how to mod my Novas to get much better flavor(I get great amounts of vapor clouds, but does not yield very much flavor.. could be the 2.4Ohms @ 4.2?) If someone out there has any input on my questions, or possibly a better place in San Diego than Vapure to buy stuff(I mean GotVapes would be fine, but local is faster IMO) I would be greatful.

Very Respectfully,

Hi

I can answer some of your questions. The Protank version 1 has a fixed mouthpiece that cannot be changed. The version 2, however, will take a 510 drip tip. The replaceable head for the both of the Protanks are the same and will also fit the EVOD and Davide tanks.

The Nova is a top coil clearo and the Protank is a bottom coil, so you are comparing two different systems. Both have replaceable coils (heads) and have wicks that can be modified, but you don't have to. Personally, I don't like to mess with them; you shouldn't have to, unless you don't like the performance.

ETA: The Vivi Nova isn't in this review. It compares 3 of the latest glass bottom coils on the market:

Personally I do not like the performance of the Nova and was hoping someone could put me in the right direction for my setup, L4V4Tube XL, to produce more flavor from the Vivi Nova. Do not get me wrong it is spot on in other areas, but this area is just not up to par for me and would like tips and tricks to produce more flavor.

I think I will pick up a protank v2 and check it out. Also I was checking out the MegaTwix Dual Chamber/Coil 3.6ml 1.8ohm Clearo Tank [gv-MegaTwix-DualChamber] - $12.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more DualTank / coil MegaTwix and was wondering thoughts on that, would love to mix flavors without having to waste liquid incase you mix something rather nasty.

Hi there new member as well but not to vaping either. I have tried the Protank (not the V2) I loved my first one. It produced great vapor, awesome flavor, and easy to fill and clean. Until I dropped it from my lap and it shattered. Little pieces of glass and juice went all over my floor. It was a big mess. I ordered another one and after a week of using it, it started linking from the bottom part of the glass and eventually the glass tank itself came unattached from the bottom. Im not sure how to the V2 is set up but I dont think Ill give it a try.

I have never done dripping actually. I am in the military and it is rather hard to carry around a bunch of stuff to do dripping when I can just have a case with batteries, mods, tips, and tanks. Some people already ask me if it is a case full of drugs lol. I would still like maybe some links to Nova mods that I can try out. I will also pickup a ProTank2 just to see if it is good.

I only use 4.2 volts as a base voltage for the Novas.. it seems to work rather well. I have no problems using other atomizers or different voltages, but I would need inputs as to what atomizers and voltages produce a 50/50 mix of pg/vg vapor/flavor. Also I am not too sure as to the pg/vg mix of the Vapure liquid that I smoke so that could also be a flavor issue. Also if it helps I am using a 18650 battery.

While some people drip when out and about, it not very convenient. It's more for when you are sitting in front of the computer or watching TV.

I don't know what you mean by "Nova" mods. There are video on youtube about rewicking them, is that what you mean?

From what I read, very briefly of course, I believe people are rewicking them to achieve greater success with vapor and flavor. Stuff about using cotton, diapers, other things of that nature. I just want an easy rewicking mod for better results. I am not a total idiot, but I have never rebuilt any tanks before so I have no idea what I am doing. I just replace atomizers so far.

You can rebuild the wicks on a Vivia Nova, but it's just a regular Vivi Nova you can get anywhere. When you read people going into great detail about what they are using for wicks, etc., generally they are referring to RBAs (Rebuildable Atomizers) which you wrap the coil of as well as rewick. There is a whole sub-forum dedicated to that in the Assorted PV Topics sections. There are tutorials on ECF and videos about rewicking Vivi Novas and RBAs on youtube.

This is a Vivi Nova head with the wick rebuilt:

This is an Octopus. Just one example of a type of RBA:

Double post. Just went on GotVapes and purchased some goodies. Did not want to spend alot mind you.

Picked up a
Kanger ProTank II STNLS w/ Pyrex Fully Disassembleable - CLEAR
SMOKtech LARGE UDCT Ultimate Dual Coil Tank 6ml 1.5ohm - GUN MET
510 Tips
1mL and 3mL Syringes

Hopefully their USPS Priority(GotVapes shipping method) will be fast :D

EDIT: Question, can you use an RBA on the Nova, ProTank 2, or Stech UDCT?
