So I've been vaping for a month now and need your advice for my next PV device. I LOVE this forum BTW! You guys have been so helpful. :)

I started with Greensmoke and a KR808D from V4L. Here is what I love/dislike about them.

Greensmoke
Pros:
Love the weight and solid feel to the unit...it just feels good in your hand.
I also really like the easy 2 piece system.

Cons:
Hate the short battery life.
Lack of good flavors (although I enjoy their vanilla).
Fast cut-off.

V4L KR808D
Pros:
Good amount of vapor.
Again love the 2 piece system.
Love the flavors and variety of pre-filled cartomizers from V4L.

Cons:
I find the unit very tinny and it feels cheaply made.
I hate that there is no resistance at all. It feels like sucking on a straw.

I didn't comment on the obvious cost difference because it's not an issue for me at the moment.

I have only been using pre-filled carts for both and prefer to keep doing the same. I don't want to have to worry about cleaning/refilling/boiling etc. It seems like a lot of parts to have to keep around and lots of work.

So all that said, what would you suggest for my next device?

I guess my requirements in the end would be:
A two piece system or something that is equally easy to maintain.
Produces a good amount of vapor (at least that of the KR808)
Has a large selection of pre-filled cartomizers available.
Feels solid and well made, and has decent battery life.
Doesn't need to looklike an analogue (I got over that).

Does it exist? What do you guys think? Sorry for the novel.

I started with the KR8 from Vapor4Life, and it is still my wife's everyday vape, 17 months later. She also uses a PigCig battery from LeCig with her V4L cartos. You likely won't find anyone with a larger pre-filled flavor selection than V4L. Bloog cartos are good, but there aren't nearly as many flavor choices.

I dabbled a bit with atomizers fairly early on, and found them fussy and messy - I didn't care to drip all the time, and the cartridges were very small (many advances have been made since then). So I stuck with the KR8, often filling or re-filling my cartos. When the WetBox became available last year, the idea of a bottom-feed mod intrigued me, so I bought one. It wasn't a particularly robust device, but it sold me on the concept. When the REO Mini (reosmods.com) became available last fall, I bought one, and have loved it ever since. It is built like a tank, is all mechanical, and very easy to maintain. IMO, a 2-piece e-cig with pre-filled cartos is the simplest device, but once you step outside of that box, I believe that a bottom-feed mod such as the REO is the next easiest device, and can be much more economical in the long run. Any of the REO's (Mini, Grand or Woodvil) can work with KR8 carto's (using a 901-to-510 adapter), or use a native 510 atty or carto, or a 306 atty. If you're interested, visit the Reos Mods subforum here, do some reading and ask any questions you like - you'll find plenty of good folks and info there.

Piano Guy is right about Bloogs variety compared to V4L's. V4L's selection is the biggest I know of. My problem with their carto's is the performance compared to the newer horizontal coil types like Bloogs. Get some of both, since cost isn't really an issue here, and see what you think. Before to long, plenty of other folks will chime in with their 2cents. I hope you find what you are looking for. Have a good weekend.

I also succeeded it quitting with a KR8, great set-up especially if you like the two-peice and prefilled cartos. Great suggestions from all posters. I might suggest a PCC to enable you to always have a fresh batt, or graduate to an eGo/Riva or maybe the Boge Leo? With the Leo you can buy prefilled carts. Great flavor and vapor production with the 801 style attys. It's also a passthrough batt.
The best of luck with your decision! :)

I'm a huge KR fan, I vape the premium cartomizers from V4L more than any other atty. But I have to tell you, getting a good prefilled carto is rare for me. I'd say 1 in 5 prefilleds perform like I want them to. With blanks, about 3 in 5 perform the way I want them to...really really good and for a long time. I can get 20ml out of my best cartos.

I'll throw a brand new carto out if I don't like the way it performs. But when I get a stellar performing carto, there is no way in the world that I'm throwing it out because I don't want to refill.

I never mess with boiling, cleaning, or any of that stuff...but filling/refilling is sooo worth it for the better experience. Just trying to encourage you in the direction to which I'm biased I guess.

I am pretty new also and just graduated from the kr808 to an Ego 650mah Usb passthrough with 2.0ohm cartomizers. You have to fill these yourself but when you consider the quality of juices available from vendors like backwoods brew and others you will never go back to pre-filled.

My wife is sticking with the KR808 as she prefers the auto batteries. Also, I still always keep an 808 and a cartomizer in my kit as a backup. Quite frankly once you move to filling your own cartos the 808 is still a great device so you can stay right where you are and stay perfectly happy unless you start developing a vape hobby then all the other stuff starts to come into play.

Really it boils down to what formfactor and operating mode do you want;

Manual or automatic switches?

Skinny cig-like? A 808 mega will give you decent battery life and if you use cartos (which I REALLY recommend you refill - its dead easy and no cleaning involved). The 808 2ml jumbo cartos from nhaler are the largest in the skinny formfactor with the best vapor and flavor production that I've found.

Want better battery life and are comfortable with a fatter battery? An iGo as mentioned before would be a good choice and the cartos are among the largest out there giving you most of a day of vaping without having to fiddle with anything.

Desire absolute maximum battery life or want a hotter vape and dont care about size? Try a silver bullet or a box mod or a darwin or a variable voltage mod. The sky is the limit for mods, its all what you want to achieve.

Tell us what size, formfactor, manual/automatic, and threading (510/808/901) you'd like and we'll try to steer you in a good direction.

Don't forget they also make adapters for almost any carto battery combo you want. I am currently using my stock of 808 cartos on my ego 510 battery.
