Hi all,

Having previously used VG based nic i decided to go for PG this time for ease of use. My VG nic was an almost clear colur, but my PG has turned up and its very yellow in colour. I remember reading that a yellowy colour could indicate nicotine breakdown, but before I go completining I wondered if this maybe normal for PG based nic?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks,

Phil

Thanks for the reply Bob, should I be concerned about the quality? Or should i just stop complaining and use it anyway lol

Unless it tastes "off", quality isn't the issue. It's age. All nic turns yellow when exposed to oxygen and/or light over time. Even a sealed bottle contains oxygen in the mix so there is no way to avoid it. Keeping it in the freezer greatly slows down the process though. I have yet to pull anything but clear nic from the freezer and some of my bottles are pushing 18 months old. However, my mixing bottle yellows within 3 months of being out of the freezer. Can't tell the difference from clear nic to be honest.

With that being said, if a vendor is selling nic base that is already oxidized a little bit I would consider looking elsewhere. If you are going to use it without freezing it then no big deal this time. However, if I purchased it to store it for long term I would be ticked off a little that it is already oxidizing.

I have had Nicotine that was pink, still was fine. If it smells too ganky, then lose it. VG nic sometimes has that ganky smell I find compared to PG nic. IMO
