Who says it is nicotine? I clean my tanks every couple days. Wife has mini Protanks and I wash her tanks and change the burners every two to three tankfuls ( likelyevery 4 or 5ml). Unburned gunk gathers on the coils from the heat and that left over will start turning coils black with gunk which transfers to the juice. Clean mine so often because I want every vape as good as the first vape. CHEERS!

Tell us which coil on which mod is your set up? It pretty much could be your coil is too small and burning for the amount of energy it receives. Burned particles make your juice dark.
I'm using the 2.2-2.4 ohms I believe... Don't know what you mean by "mod" though... Could you clarify that a bit for me?

Which battery mod at which wattage if its a variable wattage/voltage mod?
For instance an MVP isn't powerful to burn clearomizer coils but Istick with even 6-8 watts is.

It's not vv/vw I know that for sure... It's just a regular ego style battery I think. Ugh I still get kinda stuck on all the techy terms... Lol

Ohh, not much you can do with your set up unless you can rebuild your clearomizer coils. Try to run your ego at the lowest voltage it might burn your coil a little less.

This tech is pretty simple you will get there in no time.

If the tank/coil has been used a lot the coloring could be coming from the deposits on the wick.

That's right the coil running too hot collects and burns deposits. My coil for instance doesn't change color of my juices at all even after a week of vaping 4.5ml every day.

I use MVP but when I built the same coil for a guy with Istick and it was too small for his mod. I had to make much larger coil with more cotton for Istick to prevent the same problem.

When you start with a fresh coil you need to make sure the juice saturates the wick. If you fill and fire right away that will cause the wick to burn a bit. That is one possible issue if your juice is getting dark quickly. Like it was mentioned earlier, running at a higher voltage can cause the wick to burn quicker. There are lots of charts on the web that show ohms, volts, and watt ranges suitable for juice vaping. This was a big help to me when I first started. Note: most of the charts are the personal taste of the author.

Here is an example chart to get you started. (courtesy of World Of Vapor - Indy)

When I first started I noticed people talking about having multiple tanks. When I used PT2s, they were simple to clean, but I let them air-dry, so I had a few tanks. I change flavors (tanks) throughout the day because my taste buds get overwhelmed and I lose the flavor for that juice. I generally have 4-6 tanks running at once. I like a pastry with my morning coffee and in the evening in front of the TV, I need less nic because I am vaping more. That is two right there.

Anyway, I disassemble the tank/coil and toss it all into water/vinegar bowl for an hour and then rinse under the hottest tap water. Even the bowl of vinegar/water lasted a while.

Juice does change color a bit, but never black. About 10mg and wash.

Pretty easy.
