From the article: "I have a confession to make that might shock you. I used to smoke. In my late teens and early 20s, I was a chain smoker. I enjoyed it. I loved having a cigarette in my fingers and I enjoyed the experience of smoking. I especially enjoyed it in college while I was writing papers; there was nothing like plopping down in front of my Brother word processor while puffing on a cigarette and sipping some tea."

This in a nutshell explains the puritanical backlash against smokers and "vapers" - we LIKE it. And, in their world, this makes us bad people deserving of death. It's the new Salem Witch Trials, or Inquisition, or any other fanatical movement designed to stamp out "wrong thinking." These people make me nuts.

I'd go as far as to say that it's not only Salem Witch Trial-like, but also Nazi-like. Remember, Hitler tried to stamp out smoking and drinking in the 3rd Reich. He was into 'human behavior modification'. Because he didn't smoke or drink, no one else should.

I don't know why, but I was trying to be kind. We could add the Taliban to this list too.
