Last night I sat down and worked with my cnc mill again for the first time in about 6 mos. It had been a while so to hone my milling and cnc programming skills back into shape I milled a quick NicoStick out of hard maple. This one is setup for a sony cybershot camera battery. I usually mill prototypes out of maple as it is a little more forgiving on the bits if I screw up the programming.

I am not sure I will finish this one as I really want to mill a sidewinder today out of billet aluminum.

The first picture is of the first attempt the battery fit too tight I had to
open it up a few thousandths and mill a second one which was perfect.

Nice work PM, a shame to just chuck it in the trash.

Along the lines of a "woody" Nico stick, check out your local hobby store for craft size pieces of wood to make a box. A place by me has Walnut, cherry, mahogany, bass, and balsa in sizes that would be a breeze to make a nice box with.

The walnut and cherry would finish up beautifully.
