I'm about ready to jump in and start making my own juice. I'm looking for a good nicotine. I was going to go with Nude Nicotine. But when I buy this, it's going to be a good amount and I plan on stock piling. My friend suggested VG base since I like high VG juice. But then he tells me that VG base nicotine doesn't do well frozen. Any suggestions?

From what I understand from various discussions here...

VG has an advantage in that it has less embedded oxygen, and therefore the nic should oxidize slower. That is the opinion of @Kurt, a member here who is a chemist and has successfully stored VG based nic for 6 years now without any apparent degradation. His experience should tell you that VG can't be a bad idea. I don't think there is enough raw data around here to suggest that one is better than the other based on empirical real world results.

PG might have one advantage in that it is an antibacterial/antiviral, and might better inhibit various unwanted organic growths. It is also thinner and easier to mix, were one concerned with the idea of nic separating and creating hot and cold spots over time.

I myself am still buying it 50/50, threading those needles as best I can :)

I started by getting 1 liter of 100 mg nic from myfreedomsmokes for $50 plus 4 250 ml amber bottles to store it in. Each small bottle is a bit less than a year supply at my current consumption of nic. I have two more liters which are stored in 1 liter amber bottles until I start using them years from now and then I'll divide them into the 250 ml bottles. That's the plan. My nic is diluted in PG and stored in the freezer. I'm confident this nic will last indefinitely. I've re wrapped the bottles in the bubble wrap they were shipped in so they stay put in the freezer.

I've been vaping this nic exclusively since last July and mix about once a month. Lately I'm experimenting with using the absolute mimimum amount of flavoring and it's going well. One of the two liquids I vape is down to less than 1% flavoring and it's fine. According to my mixing calculator it's costing slightly more than 1 pennny per ml to vape minimal flavoring. I vape 7 ml per day so the daily budget is about 8 cents.
