Some things I've noticed in the month I've been vaping:

My taste buds are coming back - food tastes better;
My sense of smell is coming back - everything smells better;
I don't get winded anymore when I exercise, so I'm exercising longer;
and, I'm drinking a lot more water than I used to.

Not sure any of that has made a difference in my weight. Just got off a cruise, and didn't gain any more eight than normal (2-3 lbs), but the food tasted a lot better:), and we were able to snorkle for more than an hour without getting tired or winded.

NICE. I've only been off cigs for 48 hours now, but I cant wait to see these improvements. Yea, not circulating tons of carbon monoxide through your body should definitely allow you to exert yourself much more. It's so obvious, I dont know how I ever fooled myself into thinking I was in good shape while smoking :facepalm:

So far I have gained 21 lbs and am slowly getting it off but if if any of you guys read the studies on Pg it can cause slight to moderate weight gain in people with mid to low metabolism

Hi VapD....how long have you been vaping? It's nice to know it is dropping off for you now. :)
I did read that PG can cause weight gain in rats, not sure of what the environmental factors were on that study.
It is interesting that we have a dead heat so far....I don't know one person who has quit smoking, either by cold turkey method or some other NRT (besides vaping) that did not gain a significant amount of weight. So I am encouraged about the poll results so far. Not a sure fire thing that you will gain weight while vaping....

I'm smoking less, vaping more and eating a bit more. I think my snacking more has to do with the fact that I'm vaping soda and drink flavors and it's like my body is saying "hey, a sandwich would go good with that mountain dew flavor".

I barely ate when I was purely smoking cigs, I'd have dinner and maybe a bowl of cereal at 3am (I'm a night person) and that would be it.

I totally agree with you.. I think it all comes down to the individuals eating habbits.. you know the fda love to blame products and label them as a hazard(example)...

It does jump start certain prospects of your body but we're the ones chewing.

Heres a little saying my grandpa always told me because i always said hes coming fat from drinking beer..

"you think im getting fat because of the beer? Look here son, you will get fat off of the things you eat while drinking alcohol, not plainly because of the beer"...

.. although some beers have A LOT of calories. A non-lite beer will contain 150-200 calories, source: Beer Calories, Beer Alcohol, Beer Carbohydrates.

So for example: 6 pack of Sam Adams will have 160*6 = 960 calories
Even a shot of vodka will have about 65 calories (I was surprised by this)

Of course, when you throw in the 20 chicken wings and 3 bags of chips that you have with the beer and count up those cals, you'll realize that you need to fast for like 3 days to break even

BUt beer does have high cals, so thats one of the facts in this question asked..
