Nicotine Base Suggestions

I prefer MFS, but it's a matter of choice.

I just made a big batch of e-liquid for storage. I started with 100% PG 100mg nicotine and mixed it down to a 75/25 24mg nic base, which is what we like to start with when making small batches.

High Desert Vapes gets their nic from Wizard Labs, though I've never bought from them so I don't know if it comes in glass or plastic.

Do NOT over-think this.

Remember, your taste buds are not the same as other people's. We see this all the time with ejuice recommendations, people recommend juice and you end up hating it.

START somewhere. Order a small batch and see if you like it. After all, you're the one who is going to have to *compare* different nic base solutions to each other, right? Nobody else can do that for you.

Pick one or two, and just try 'em.

Ah Racehorse, you made me laugh out loud and your advice is spot on. I am over thinking. It may be because I'm not in a hurry to start diy. One of my kids is a chem major and works part time in a lab so I was told not to do anything until my 'supervisor' comes home and sets up my mini lab.

Price plus proper shipping practices (no chance of leaks) and consistency in product. Theirs always comes in crystal clear with no smell, which means it's fresh. It's also always tested out at the proper percentage. We had at least one vendor send out nic that was sometimes WAY off on their percentages and people got a bit gun shy, so they're now careful, and loyal when they find a good nic vendor.

**Edited to add that the particular vendor I mentioned isn't any of them spoke of here or elsewhere on the boards. This was several years ago and though the vendor is still in business, as far as I know the vaping community at large no longer uses them.**

I have purchased from a few, I now prefer rtsvapes.com So what is the deal with plastic bottles? I like the absolutely white no light gets in bottle.

Plastic is fine if you're going to immediately use what you ordered, but it's not good for freezing and you don't want to leave nic sitting in it for several years. There's too much chance of leaching.

To me it's the price and consistency. Every time I've ordered from WL, what I've gotten has been crystal clear and well-packed in cobalt bottles. This last time around, I fell for a vendor that had a 20% off sale and also carried 60mg WL nic (WL was out of stock at the time). It's probably OK, but it kinda bugs me that they packed it in a white bottle with a see-through strip, and it's brownish yellow.

And thus the reason for the 20% off sale. They'd had the base for awhile and it was beginning to oxidize. Oxidation isn't necessarily a bad thing, the nic does start losing some potency, but it's an extremely small and slow process. Nic also tends to gain a nice, mild tobacco flavor as it oxidizes.

VG actually, at least when it comes to freezing. See the link I put in post #12. It comes from a man that I call our resident chemist. He may now be one of quite a few but he was one of the first and got very involved with studying the ins and outs of nic base.

+1 for Nude Nicotine extremely pure and clear I ordered 100% PG and mixed with PG /VG to a 50/50. I use it as is (tastes great)and mix it with other juices that are too strong for my liking. I have not jumped into DIY yet

Comes in a white plastic bottle with a wide peek-through strip down the side. That's where I go my brownish yellow 60mg nic from.
