Hi,

#1 If I was using the excel ejuice calculator version 14 and I order NIC in 50/50 pg/vg. What would I input in section 1 for the PG line? 50%?

#2 Is 50/50 the ideal combination for easy DIY juice or is there a better composition?

Your nicotine solution is 50/50? or your base of PG/VG is 50/50? Most nicotine comes either in PG or VG only.

People have their preferences depending upon whether you like more vapor production or throat hit. Along with adding more vapor, VG is also sweet, so this may alter your recipes and make them sweeter if you are using higher than 50% VG. PG is thinner and provides a sharper taste, but many also have reactions to having some or all PG, so I would not go past 50%PG, that's just me.

What do you prefer? What recipes are you mostly making - fruit or tobacco or what?

I prefer the final juice to be 50/50 pg/vg. And I am also considering buying 100 mg/ml nictone in a 50/50 pg/vg base.

If that's the case then what do I enter for the "PG" value in the calculator's section 1.

As you can see in the picture, if I do enter 50 for PG in section 1..in the final juice I get ..

2.5 ml of VG (.9 + 1.6)
2.0 ml of PG

Which does not seem to be a 50/50 pg/vg result that I am going for.

Sorry man, your screenshot, even when I click on it, is super small so I can't see exactly what you're referencing...

I'm not familiar with the spreadsheet your using, but it reminds me of accounting homework from college (no offense if whoever made it reads this). Have you tried using ejuicemeup as a calculator? IMO, it's super easy and fairly intuitive.

I too make the the vast majority of my juice at 50/50 as the final product. My unmixed nic is 100% PG, 36mg. I take 100ml of that and add it to 100ml of VG, giving me a pre-mixed base of 50/50 @ 18mg. My final products usually end up as either 12mg or 6mg depending on what I'm making.

Also, as a friendly word of caution, 100mg nicotine is pretty serious business, and something you may want to read more about on here before actually making that purchase. I feel pretty confident as a DIYer, and for me, the risks associated with working with a nic level that high is not worth the savings seen by diluting it down. Just a friendly word of caution. :)

?

With proper handling, caution, attention, and safety, 10% nic solution isn't that much worse than the lower percentages. I definitely do it with all the windows open and protective gear, but the cost savings is very worth it.

Maybe I'm confused. I personally dilute it down for freezing/storage, but are you referring to just purchasing it?

I use a 120 mL bottle to mix up my unflavored base liquid. I took a syringe and using water (much easier to measure accuratly than VG or PG) and measured out the mL of nicotine necessary and carefully marked the level on my bottle. Then I added more water to mark off another level for how much PG to add, and again more water for my VG addition. Now to mix a batch, I have the measurements on the bottle, and just have to pour in the nic, then PG, then VG for a perfect 50/50 mix at 15 mg.

I have a gram scale to .01 accuracy. I first measure my pg/vg into it and then I add the nic, close it up, and go to the next bottle. I used to use syringes, but the scale means I have no clean up except for a little glass funnel. I put plastic wrap on the scale in case of spills and tare it out to account for extra weight.
