I found this chart from a vendors site . would this be general? for must vendors or would this be for just this certain vendor???????? .

Here are some basic guidelines for Nicotine Strength Selection.

Choosing your nicotine dose

This is a rough guide on how to choose the nicotine dose for your e-liquid, this is also based on your own preference.

1-10 cigarettes per day = 6mg
11-20 cigarettes per day = 11mg
21-50 cigarettes per day = 16-18mg
51+ cigarettes per day = 24mg -30mg

That would be general, and leaning toward the light side for most smokers.

It is also becoming less reliable, because how much nicotine you get out of the experience depends on the varied hardware options in the market right now. So while 24 mg might be a reasonable start for most 2 PAD smokers - starting with basic hardware - it would be nicotine overload for the same 2 PAD smoker trying to start out with a mechanical mod and a dripping atty that can produce four times as much vapor as something like a basic Kanger ProTank.

That, and there seems to be a wide variation regarding how much nicotine people absorb from vaping. You could take two people with the same smoking profile, same hardware, and for one person 24 mg may still not be enough while the other person is experiencing nicotine overload.

When you start this is just one of the things you need to figure out - what nic level is right for you personally. Get small sample size bottles in at least three different nic levels to sort it out before committing to larger sizes.

thanks . I am mainly vaping at work (8 hour day) and smoke 2 cigs . at home I am smoking more then vaping I would say total of 9 cigs a day . the town I live in is limited to juice so I have been using a china made brand says 2.1% I think that is 21mg ???? I think its to high I kind of get a light head . so I just ordered from this vendor 3 different flavors all 16mg then I seen this chart and now I am worried about getting to much nic again . I could probably cut out the cigs if I did not have them around the house and/or I wasn't worried about the nic level. but in the past few weeks I can breathe better . I am confident that I could now run from a zombie . lol

Rickajho makes a good point about hardware. I've learned to get Protanks working well enough now that I'm getting a little headed in a short time at 12mg where the chart said I should be. Started getting a few flavors in 6mg to use in my first dripper, and a conservative single coil build at that, no whiteouts. Liking that better in tanks now because I can enjoy vaping a bit without tipping over.

What kind of setup do you use? Battery and delivery device?

If you are experiencing light headedness, then your nic level is too high. Trying the 16mg should eliminate that. Don't worry about your nic levels - your body will tell you when you are vaping too high of a liquid in the form of dizziness, nausea. It may take a few purchases to find your right strength.

Okay, you have a basic setup. If you get the 16mg and find that you still feel light headed, you may need to go down to 12, that's the next level down in strength from most vendors. But, unless you were a light smoker, then the 16 should be fine. Like Rickajho mentioned, you may need to invest in a sample pack of different nicotine strengths to determine what works for you right now. Are you chain vaping when you vape? If you do, you may want to slow it down a bit. One of the things that you have to do when vaping is to keep hydrated well. You will need to drink a lot of water, like more water than you think you can drink in a day. Dehydration may be contributing to the light headedness if you are not drinking enough.

I looked at what I have on hand to see if I had any 12mg liquids I could send you, but all of mine are 16mg and 18mg.

It's the same thing, same concept, as chain smoking - pretty much all the time. If you smoked a pack a day, then you weren't chain smoking. So, the trick with you, the hard part, will be to find the nicotine level that is both satisfying enough that you don't feel the need to chain vape, yet not so strong that you feel dizzy or sick.

I gotta agree. I was smoking 2+ PAD and when I started vaping I couldn't use anything more than 12mg/ml. Different strokes for different folks.

As a sidenote I reckon I'd have gone for a higher strength, if only I could find a tobacco flavor I liked. I only vape fruits and spices and high nic just spoils the flavor.

So Cal
I smoked a pack a day for almost 40 years and started at 18mg - quickly went down to 12mg and then to 6mg. I have a friend who smoked half a pack a day for 40 year. She needed 48mg to lose the smoking urge.

It's completely different for people, and the guidelines are only that! Vape whatever strength you need - chain vape if you need to (I do, but when I can't I don't get antsy!).
