normally what nicotine strength do you take? I'm a newbie and I'm trying to quit smoking. Any suggestions?
A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If you are subohming (resistance under 1.0Ω) cut these nicotine levels by at least 50%.
06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes
Welcome, you should find it easy to stop smoking.
I used 24 mg, than 18 for a while, than 12, now 3 (12 on an occasion).
Don't know if you bought any batteries or tanks yet, regardless, I would suggest not buying something you will probably end up not using regularly in a week or so.
I started with an Aspire tank and Spinner II batteries....within a couple weeks I gave them away and bought a 30 watt iStick and sub-tank mini. Now I have thousands of dollars in mods tanks drippers, bottom-feeders. Kind of a hobby now rather than smoking.
Best of luck.
Yes, per day.the amount of cigarettes is referring to per day?
Yes, per day.
the batteries last
If I were to use clearo's anymore, and I do in the event of stealth vaping, I use Higher nic than my normal 3-6mg that I use in sub-ohm tanks and rdas. In the clearos it would be more like 12mg. I did start with 24 mg at a time when Clearos and cartomizers were really the only things that around and were on the cheaper side. If your still trying to Quit and you Smoked a pack or more a day. I would start out with a small bottle of 24mg or 18mg. Your body will tell you if you need to cut down more. Headache, Nausea, are the most commen symptoms of to much nic. And what inspsects said always have a back up.

Then 18-24mg would most likly be a to much for you, more like a 6mg or 3mg. whatever it takes to knock out that urge. when your sticks don't taste good any more thats when you know you can. even cutting down that much is even a great achievment.
I agree somewhat but it's not only about amount per day, but type.
The following figures are for a clearo under 10 watts.
40+ Marlboro Red / Day = 36mg
20+ Marlboro Red / Day = 24mg
Less than 20 Marlboro Red / Day = 18mg
40+ Marlboro Light / Day = 24mg
20+ Marlboro Light / Day = 18mg
Less than 20 Marlboro Light / Day = 12mg
I only smoked Marlboro so this is my 2¢
My mom is a 20/day ultralight smoker and she started with 18mg but quickly settled on 16mg.
@bacawax, whatever works to kick the smokes is all that counts. I'm not familiar with those items.
The 20-30 watts mods are quite inexpensive now, and the batteries last. Remember to buy a back-up for your back-up....![]()
And dun forget another backup for those too! Lol
Anyhow, 18mg and above are kinda hard to find around here.. Dun be too concern bout those figures, just make do with what you can have
I was a pretty heavy smoker.. 30 or more sticks a day. But I somehow manage to switch over to vaping quite easily. I was only using mostly 6mg and the occasional 12mg(if can find).. I believe it's the act of bringing something to my mouth, inhale and blow smoke/cloud out that did the trick.. Mostly psychological effect I think. As for whether nic is addictive or not, well most studies are biased anyway and inclusive if you ask me..
