VAMO is the name given the device by the manufacturer. Health Cabin is trying to pretend it is their own device so they wanted it to have a name other than Vamo. All the other vendors are calling it by its correct name, which is VAMO. I think the Bamboo name is a very poor choice. I live in Thailand where there is lots of bamboo. This device does not resemble bamboo. The selection of this name doesn't make any sense to me.

I think it was originally called the eGo APV - a pretty generic sort of name. Health Cabin called it that. Health Cabin ran a contest for a new name. People voted on the names and Bamboo won. I don't like Bamboo myself, but that's what got voted for.
It's been called other names by vendors too - the Eagle, the Vision Variable Volt Mod. I don't like either of those either. I don't know who came up with Vamo but its the one most of us prefer, and has been around a while.

Health Cabin also coined the term "eGo APV" for the VAMO. They did not want people to know it was the same device. I made posts in their forum saying it was the VAMO and they deleted them. VAMO is what all the distributors were calling it from day one. I believe that is the official name for the device.

Actually from the beginning it was also called the Etna in Europe. I don't think Health Cabin were hiding what it was, they were just selling it with that name. If they didn't want to call it the Vamo then that's up to them.
I don't know if there ever was an official name. Its been branded with different names from the start. A vendor here told me about the upcoming new Ego vw pv before it was released - so I wasn't surprised to see it called the eGo APV.

I stumbled across the Vamo looking for the little 18650 ego mod, I wasn't really interested in getting another VV device but it's price took my breath away. Then of course it sparked curiosity, could it really be as good, seriously VW at that price.
You've got to be joking me!
But its name has caused frustration, try looking for a ego apv, everything comes up, far too generic a name. But searching for better prices with every vendor changing the name is a nightmare, I've also seen it called a ThunderVolt and a Mob Mod although I think Mob mod should be commonly used when stacking 18650's.:D
