I started vaping about two months ago, haven't had an analog cigarette since and this forum has been a lot of help. Decided to share my experience.
After reading some reviews and with a matter of convenience I bought a njoy express kit from a local gas station. It came with the automatic battery, a 1.8%(18mg) nicotine tobacco flavored disposable cartomizer, and a usb charger for $20. First off the cartomizer lasted about a day and a half vaping fairly often (maybe one or two sessions every two hours). So I bought a 5 pack of njoy cartomizers for $20 at a local smoke shop. Reading here I decided it would be much cheaper to refill these so I ordered some Backo from BackwoodsBrew.net at 12mg strength since I found I liked vaping so much but wanted to do it more with out over doing the nicotine. I also ordered a needle tip bottle for refilling the cartomizers. I ended up buying a second battery since I was constantly charging mine halfway through the day, I bought it from the njoy website for $15, though in hindsight I should have just bought another express kit since it's only $5 more, comes with another charger and they sell them at gas stations. It all seemed to be working pretty well, two batteries got me through the day great, I was refilling them and enjoyed the new e-juice. Later I got more juices, I really like the Highbrowvaper.com's RYU4, has a lot of flaver, my girlfriend also liked the smell. There was some problems and annoyances with my set up though.
The cartomizers would end up giving a bad hit, very little vape. I'd top them off only to have too much and it would hit good for two hits then be crap again. By the way a good tip I got here when filling them is if you think you over filled it blow out the excess into a paper towel, of course without the battery attached. Anyway I discovered they were burning out. I tried taking them apart and fixing the burnt parts, but that was futile. I also tried cleaning them with hot water or alcohal, using the taryn spin method, then drying them over a heater vent or blow dryer. This helped a little but not much. It helped the most when I did it on a almost fresh cartomizer, but still the vape wasn't always satisfactory and it had to be refilled often. I really wanted to keep this set up, they're small, light weight, automatic battery was convenient and I already invested in it.
I finally decided to order some third party cartomizers from AZsmokefree.com (RN4081 Blank Cartomizers), it's a RN4081 cartomizer that fits njoy, and these were mentioned in this forum. I ordered a syringe and another needle tip bottle to get the most out of my shipping. All together with the aforementioned items, the 5 pack of blank cartomizers and shipping it was about $15. They arrived two days ago and these things are awesome. Has a wrapped metal housing with a plastic coating, a rubber tip that can be removed quite easily to fill it without a syringe or needle tip, and they're a little shorter than the njoy ones, though I think it's the same amount of filler. They hit better than the njoy ones ever did. With the njoy ones I'd drag till the tip blinked (the cut off to make sure you don't over heat the cartomizer). I don't need to go that long with these and still get a lot of vape. They seem to be vaping good for longer. I have a feeling these will last much, much longer, and I will post later on to report back on this.
That's my experience so far, and I highly recommend using these cartomizers if your going this route. The disposable ones from njoy aren't made to be refilled, they're expensive, don't last that long, and are just a real headache if you try to refill them. Also all the above mentioned online vendors were amazing. Great websites, fast shipping, quality products, and they usually send you a hand written thank you, business cards, calendars, just all around good experience. Hope this was helpful.
