This is also my story of my journey into vaping thus far..

I began my journey into the world of vaping like many others, by buying a kit from 7-11 (or mall kiosk, etc). The model I bought was an Njoy Npro, otherwise known generically as RN4081. Like most others that went this uneducated route, I had nothing but issues, as seems common place with Njoy's products. The main issue being faulty switches in the automatic batteries, whereas the thing would activate on it's own, getting piping hot, and just flat out not working.

I came to these forums, and the whole world of vaping was opened up to me. I vented out my frustrations on buying not one but 2 of these kits, both within a week, with the same issues plaguing both. I met someone on here that I will leave unnamed, as to not encourage people to bother her with a mess of PM's trying to score free goodies. She helped me beyond what you would expect a perfect stranger to be willing to go forth with. She mailed me an eGo kit, with 2 batteries, an assortment of cartomizers, clearomizers, mega carto's, syringes/needles and bottles of ejuice. Needless to say she is the reason why I am smoke free and healthy.. and I now knew what a REAL PV was all about. (Not to knock anyone's PV of choice.)

On to Njoy. Considering these things had a one year warranty, I figured I should send them back, though I truly doubted the batteries they sent me back would be worth a dang. Throughout this process I was in contact with Sandra from their customer service, and she was amazing. She sent me a prepaid label to send the Npros back, and assured me she would make this right.

She did not lie. A couple days ago I received 2 new white npro batteries (unfortunately they are the same as the ones I sent back, though I haven't tested them to see how well they work), but they also sent me a camo version Npro battery and 2 bottles of 2n1 carto's (10x) free of charge.

What is surprising me is the camo battery they sent me. It's still an Npro but it is different. The hole in the post on the battery is FAR smaller, to help minimize the risk of juice leakage and there is actually a VISIBLE seal on this one. Though these Npro's are not going to be used by me, since I have my eGo's (and the FS510 kit I won in a contest from mypvshop.com, a supplier here, THANKS RANDALL! :) ) I felt the need to test out the camo battery. 2 days so far, it has not activated on it's own a single time. Not while in my pocket or anything, as they are known for. I don't know if this is a new design they are gonna start shipping out, but they should run with it.. perhaps then they will finally be taken serious by serious vapers.

Anyways, that's all I have to say for now. Thanks for listening to me story :D And thank you all for being such a great community and a basis for knowledge on the vaping world that is like no other. You have helped me tremendously!

Thanks for posting! Some ecigs get a bad rap, understandingly so, but for some of us, these sub commonly accepted products get us to give up smoking. I started my e-cig journey with a SmokeStik (which my husband still uses exclusively) and I quit smoking. It does not have bells and whistles, but imo, it is a great product and it is all some people need to get off cigarettes. Had I not found this forum, I am sure I would still be using only SmokeStik & I would be content.

P.S. This forum has cost me alot of money!!!!

Aha, I knew I forgot something. Unfortunately the battery life isn't the greatest, of course this is me being used to vaping all day on one charge with the eGo. I vape fairly heavy, and I have had to charge the npro every 3 1/2 to 5 hours, roughly. Still better by my estimation of the standard 510 from what I have read, though I cannot say for sure from experience yet, because I haven't even opened my 510's yet :p

I actually like the RN4081 atty. I just modded the batteries. :)

Are you a lite vaporer or have they actually come out with a long lasting battery?

LOL, I think it has cost us all a bit more than we thought we would be spending, but hey.. at least we aren't killing ourselves anymore (we hope!!). Plus I have to admit it's kinda fun, all this technology and different stuff lol.

Check out the ecigs I tried that are listed in my sig below. The RN4081 atty is heads of above the atties in the rest of the ecigs I tried.

When I was in the forum a year ago, moderator preferred RN4081. Don't believe any negative publicity. The only reason I don't vape it is because the heavy vapor makes me sick.

Dave

Agreed. However, some of the negative publicity is true, and untrue at the same time. There are/were a few companies out there flying the RN4081 flag, and their product was far inferior to other models. A lot of battery damage due to leakage, a lot of faulty auto switches, over priced etc.

That being said, not all RN4081's are created equal. It isn't quite fair to disqualify the model as a quality PV just because a few companies did not care about pumping out unreliable devices. Most of the generic RN4081's are actually built quite solid, as well as the new(?) Npro RN4081 design. I put the question mark because I don't know if this is right or not. When I sent my faulty models in they sent 2 back, one original white, and one camo. The white one still has the HUGE hole in the battery post, which I would imagine lets in a lot of leaked juice. However, as I stated, the camo model seems to be built very solid. Very small hole, visible white seal around the post. The hole is small, but it is still easy to drag. Before I sent my Npro's back both were faulty right out of the box. Activating in my pocket, which people have told me is "semi-normal", but not just that, they were activating for no apparent reason just sitting on my computer desk.

I haven't tried the white replacement they sent me but the camo one has not acted up a single time in the 5 days I have been using it. It hasn't even gone off in my pocket. I hope Njoy keeps going in that direction, with them being sold at 7-11 and what not and their large marketing capabilities, it would be great to have them pumping out quality RN4081's and give the model the love back that it has undeservedly lost within our ranks.
