I'm hoping this hasn't been covered, but I wasn't particularly sure of where it may be posted. I bought some cotton from Kroger labeled 100% pure cotton, however it has no designation anywhere on the package as to whether it is bleached or unbleached. I was wondering if there was a way to differentiate between the two?

Your best bet is to assume that it's been bleached unless stated otherwise as RedNBlack said.

I'm currently using Walgreen's organic cotton balls, but still boil them in filtered water.

I use the same cotton but don't boil it. It has a cottony taste for the first 4 or 5 hits then it goes away. There's probably a little hydrogen peroxide in them but that basically vaporizes to water plus an extra oxygen atom

I don't boil my cotton either just as I never used to boil my cigarettes
