No Flavor on RSST

Earlier this week i got my first wick/coil working correctly on my RSST. No hotspots; just a nice even glow. Flavor was decent for the first couple of days until this morning when i lost all flavor. Still vapes nicely just no flavor at all.

I am at 1.2 ohms on a mech mod. I have tried taking the fill plug out and that did nothing.
I have been making my own juice for a couple of months now and have not had any issues until today.
The first tank was 50/50. since then the juice i have in here right now is 100% vg with 20% TFA flavoring.
I am using a SS mesh wick along with 28 AWG Kanthal A-1.


ANY HELP???

That's kinda weird. I've just rebuilt an RSST the other day and it's hitting fine. Flavor, vapor, everything. Your coil and wick looks great. How about your battery voltage? Can you try the RSST on a VV/VW device? Don't know what else to tell you.

My battery is at 3.7V and im at about 11.4 Watts. I have a meter and i have been checking everything. I have been waiting for my flavor to become amazing as everyone talks about but it has gone in the opposite direction. I just put a new battery in and it got a little better, but still not any better than my protank. I oxidized and seasoned my wick based on everything that i have read/watched but i still am not getting anything spectacular.

Man I don't what to tell you then. If the coil is heating evenly and you're seeing vapor you should taste something. SS mesh does get better with setting in. I've built a lot of SS wicks with 28 kanthal and the only time my flavor goes off it's either too hot, not hot enough or the wick is just worn out. But that usually will take close to a month. If you figure it out, let us know! Oh and Mark could be right. The vapers tongue thing is real. Try a different juice. Can't hurt.

You really need to restrict the chamber under the cap. All that airspace dulls the flavor like crazy. There are a few places you can get them. Try googling RSST chamber restrictor.

actually my RSST produces better flavor than my 3.1.

What size of kanthal do you use? I used 0.28mm at the picture to get 1.9 ohm with that 7 wrap coil.

Just saw these post. I too have no or poor flavor with my 2 rsst. tried mesh and thinkin of trying cotton. so sad.

I have narrowed it down to my wick. After 3 hits, it is very very dry.

Is it better to have a tightly rolled wick?

I have been doing searches but i have not been able to find anything specificly.

I am using cotton and i dont roll it hard, just right and still get semi dry hits after few huge hits.

Too much stuffed cotton/silica and it wont wick well. Too little cotton and the contact to wire wont be good and the coil will glow red and produce burned vapor/taste. Coil should NEVER glow when filled with cotton/silica and saturated with juice!!

Are you getting a burnt taste ?Try using just four wraps around it. I have one and love it. Flavor is amazing with it. Also try playing with the coil spacing , you might have a hot spot you are not noticing

I rebuilt everything and like usual it is currently working great.

I am using 28 AWG kanthal and did 4 wraps again.

I need to adjust my juice a little bit but its decent for now.
I am going to drill out my air hole this weekend to 2mm and see if that helps at all.
