is it your first rda

what gauge wire

ohms

pic of the build with wet wick?

Not technically my first. I've played around with a cheapo, but it's my first serious RDA

28 guage, 1.5 ohms

No pic available, I espouse the stone age. The coil itself is a purchased pre-wrapped though I have wrapped my own before.

Vape output is great, there's just no wow factor in the flavor.

So what voltage or wattage are you using?

Might be that you just need more volts.

3.8V currently. On a provari, so limited to 20W. I realize most drippers go crazy on the wattage output. I'm just looking for flavor, not clouds to impress the neighbor kids.

Well start bumping up that voltage; 28 gauge takes more power to hot it up than the 30 gauge you find in the common nonrebuildables

Provari is 15 watts max unless you were able to get the new p3. I'm thinking you issue is either to much wicking material in the coil or coil position. Besides placing the coil in line with airhole, you also have to play around with the distance from coil to airhole also the height of coil in relation to airhole. If using a provari and a 1.5 ohm coil then increase voltage to 4.7v, this will give you about the maximum wattage of the provari

4.7? on a 1.5 ohm coil, should start producing well at 3.8v

BUILD your own coil.
Micro Coil it
28Ga. about 2mmi.d.
Shoot for 1.4-1.6ohm
Smallest hole is about useless. Protank pulls more air.
Second Hole gives best flavor if built well.
Largest hole will sacrifice some flavor for Vapor.

Magma is not bad on 1coil, but will shine on Duals 1.2ohm and lower.
Currently running Duals at .8ohm

My rule of thumb. If you aren't sure what your doing start slow and work up. Beats burnt toast. :D

i suppose, but he did say it was a magma, so it should have some decent airflow. usually these new drippers are meant for much higher power so maybe 9 is just to cool, don't know, but i agree with starting slow if unsure,(good advise) especially when i hear things like "just bought an rda and want some big clouds, i have just bought some 16g wire and want to do a quad twisted parallel tiger, may question is how do i build it?"
