ok i am still a noob at all this just to let y'all know lol. so i rinsed my evods and kanger pro 2 with water to practice and i just keep getting gurling from each of them. it is getting frustrating. I let it air dry for a few hours, maybe at most 3 hours. i know for sure im not getting ejuice in the center hole because i fill it with a needle bottle. i even switched out the unused head that came with the protank 2 and its barely getting any vapor and still gurling. What is causing all this? Please help! Please bare with me if i don't reply back in time because i am really trying to see what the problem is. Thanks

Oh and when i rinsed i didn't take it completely apart, i just rinsed the tank and the whole head. I tried dry burning it and i see it turning red but still no luck. I'm thinking maybe the tank itself wasn't completely dry? If so how long does water take to evaporate? I dried the head with a napkin but i couldn't really dry the inside of the tank with a napkin due to it being so tight inside.

Edit: when i dry burned it, thats when i took the shaft off to see if it was turning red

You shouldn't have to go through all that. A good 5 second squeeze on the outside of the wick with a paper towel should be sufficient. What device are you using it on?

I have a vision spinner and a lavatube 2.5

OK, are you making sure the coil head is super tight on the base (not the battery)? Have you checked to make sure that the rubber o-rings are still there?

Also, the rubber grommet on the chimney...is it down tight (it shouldn't be).

When you remove the PT from the battery is there excessive liquid, like it's leaking but not enough to spill over?

edit: if there's too much water, it might gurgle a bit but after a few short, tight draws it should go away.

Yes, i still see 2 o-rings on each of my heads. What i really don't understand is how im still getting gurgling even on a new head?

Drying doesn't matter that much. It effects the quality of the first hit.

Is the battery post getting liquid on it?

Are you drawing really hard? Slow and steady wins that race.

If you turn the tank over on a napkin, does liquid come out?

Re-reading, when cleaning you should remove the atomizer from the bottom "breather" part so all joints/o-rings can be rinsed.

When i turn it upside down, nothing is coming out even with the drip tip off. Ok later on I will clean one whole tank, this time i will take the shaft off to se if that helps. How long should i keep it air drying for when i rinse with water?

Edit: I see a little bit of juice on where the battery connects to, but i also dried that part with a napkin.

I agree with Art02 that you don't want to take too fast of a drag. That can make the liquid suck up the cylinder too fast before it has a chance to vaporize.

I've had the gurgling issues with Protanks, but not with Evods.

If you really want to fiddle with it, here's a step-by-step blog post about how to fix gurgling Evods (one problem has been the flavor wicks):

How to prevent Kanger T3 and eVod gurgling and leaking

People thought I was crazy ordering 10 Protank 2 Mini's from FastTech. I am not sure if I could live life without worrying all the time if I only had 1 or 2 tanks. Sometimes I don't want to .... with it.

Backups.

You are not going to go from spending $50 per week smoking analogs to $3 smoking e-cigs. You need more then one of everything.

Thank you, i will try this method. Hopefully it works!

Then you are leaking from the atomizer to the base breather part that connects to the battery.

If you replace the atomizer, you have to clean the two mating parts. Hot water works well. Soak for 5 minutes. Dry on a paper towel. My heat comes from the floor vents (versus ceiling vents) and I put the parts on the floor vents and they dry in 15 minutes. Keep the parts clean. You don't add juice without cleaning something.

Wait, don't add juice without cleaning? Why is that?

A little dollup of juice on the battery contact is normal...but when it gets "suffocated" with juice, it will gurgle. This happens a lot with my Protank, which is why I don't use it much. Constantly have to wipe off the contacts, even with 50/50 juice.

My evods generally don't gurgle unless they're just about empty. I have heard lately that Kanger coils have been sub-par. I don't know, I haven't bought any in over 3 months.

When they do, I usually turn up the voltage several notches, draw on it really slowly, and eventually the gurgling goes away and then I turn it back down.

Edit: I will add juice sometimes 3-4 times without rinsing. I used to rinse everything out with every refill, but I got lazy. Now that I'm re-wicking and dry burning I'm not as .... about it. The worst that will happen if you don't do it regularly is that you'll gunk up the coils and get burnt hits, and have to replace the heads more often.

It seems to me, that when you take off the bottom of the Protank to re-fill, the atomizer and base in time loosen up. Which causes leaking and badness. I can refill a tank once or perhaps twice, but I rarely do it without replacing the bottom breather part and the atomizer with a clean one.

If I am out and about working, if a tank runs out (rarely) or starts to gurgle or give me any problems, I just go and get a new clean tank and fill it up.

At home if a tank runs out or starts to gurgle or give me problems, I tend to replace the bottom breather part and the atomizer with a clean one.

I never have any problems that can't be solved. My strategy is working for me right now.

However, I am forever looking for a tank that works perfectly all the time for the rest of my life. I would buy 10. Or 20.

And I am only approximately 2 ml per day so I refill rarely. And I am a Newb. I am. I am listening to every word you say. I am here to pick up a nugget. I love everyone here.

I just never had much luck with mine. I bought it in August and I've filled it maybe 3 times. The gurgling started with the first tank, so I don't know what to say. Plenty of people are pleased as punch with theirs, but I never really got to love it. I ended up going with the Smok Aro and it's been trouble-free for me.

Ive been dealing with this issue myself actually. Im still a noob as well so i feel your pain.

I am using a protank 2 on my Itaste VV V3.0 and when i first got it it wouldnt stop leaking/gurgling. I kept taking it apart and cleaning it just like you seem to be doing. i havent done that in a week or so but i still run into the leaking quite often.

All i do not is unscrew the base (with the coil) and blow through the holes to remove the liquid inside. Use a tissue so you dont get it directly on your lips. Once you blow and nothing comes spraying out, its good. Then i run a q-tip through the chimney to get that dry. After that i pop it back in and it works just fine. But like tonight i had it leak/flood/gurgle 3 times in a row after cleaning. I still havent been able to pinpoint exactly what is causing it but a few things i do now is. Keep my tank at least half full, and just make sure your not over-tightening things. Especially the 510 where your tank meets your battery. I noticed tightening that all the way leaves no airflow which can lead to you sucking the liquid right up the chimney and into your mouth.

Again my advice isnt anything special but i figured id share my similar experience with you seeing as im having the same issue.

P.S I just ordered the Nautilus by Aspire. Im hoping this will work much better then this protank.
