I just bought my first ecig the other day, and a friend whose been vaping for some time now, told me not to use the cartridges at all and just drop the eliquid straight onto the atomizer when I asked how many times I can refill the cartridge. So is this true that its better to drop the liquid onto the atomizer, and if its not, how often should I switch out the cartridge?

and a side question, is there anyway to get fuller drags? i feel like the amount im dragging in is less then a normal cigarette.

Dripping tastes better and may also give you more vapor, but it is somewhat more work.
So it is sort of a tradeoff and you'll have to see how you feel about it.

One thing to be concerned about is whether or not you have sealed batteries.
If you drip too much juice it can get past the atomizer and down to the battery.
If your batteries are not sealed you can gunk up the battery and the switch will stop working.

If you have manually batteries, they are most likely sealed
If you have automatic batteries, they are most likely not sealed.

As far as getting fuller drags, I am starting to guess that you have an automatic battery.

It often takes practice to get fuller drags using an automatic battery.
Best way to practice is in front of a mirror so you can see when the LED is lit and when it isn't.

ya, i have an automatic battery. that is if by automatic battery you mean, the cig "turns on" by inhaling and not by pressing a button
Then I would suggest practicing how you drag in front of a mirror.
The goal is to find out what it takes to get the battery light on, and keep it on for as long as possible.

Another suggestion would be to get a manual battery.

Can you explain why? I just got some in my order today, but haven't tried yet.

Why the dummy carts are ideal when dripping? I got some of those with some of my atties as well and I too use them when dripping. I never really thought about why I immediately took to using those when dripping as opposed to a normal cart with or without stuffing. :) I guess it just seemed appropriate to me.

IMO, there really is no big reason to use a dummy over a normal cart when dripping, but the dummy does have a much easier draw since it is wide open inside which makes it even easier to get a nice huge drag. And thinking more about it, I also wouldn't want stuffing in my cart to touch the atomizer bridge when I am dripping because stuffing can sometimes alter the taste of the vapor. Dripping pretty much provides the best & biggest hits with the best possible taste. Until of course it starts to dry out, which you will know! Just put a few more drops in and continue on. :)

Just to be clear, as I know some suppliers send blank carts without stuffing...... A dummy cart not only doesn't have stuffing, but it also doesn't have a reservoir in which to put stuffing (as I said above, it is wide open). You also don't want to try to put stuffing in it and use it as a normal cart because you will get juice in your mouth.
