It's fully charged and it sounds like it's producing vapor, but when I go to take a light or strong drag it instantly ceases and goes silent. It's done this multiple times after a refill and went back to normal state after 5 mins of use but this time it seems to be stuck not producing any vapor. It's a relatively cheap starter vape pen called the Liqua-Q. What could be wrong?

How long have you had it? Maybe it's time to change the coil? With these devices there's some maintenance involved. Depending on how often you vape and what types of juice you use, coils need changed from a few days to once a month or so. Most people get at least a week out of their coils. Some people who vape more often change their coils every couple of days or so.

So... how long have you had it and when is the last time you changed the coil?

Also... you may need to clean the contact point (where the pen screws into the battery). Sometimes that area gets a little dirty and can cause it not to always make good contact. However, I believe it's probably more likely it's time for you to change your coil.

It actually started working again for about an hour without me changing anything, I'm probably getting liquid somewhere there shouldn't be even though I always make certain that doesn't happen. I changed the coils multiple times and they also take a while to work with the same problem and the battery connection area does have a few drops on it sometimes (leaks there itself during use) and cleaning it doesn't seem to fix the problem. I'm getting pretty tired of this thing acting up, what would be a better starter kit around Ireland/EU?
