As long as I have the parts I will repair them I can also convert them into mechanical mods .
This is just a proto type I want to make a plug that's is a little lighter then a chunk of brass . I haven't decided if I want the plug on the positive with a sleeve or the negative like you see in the pick . You can squeeze a kick in this mod but there really isn't enough spring room . I am working on that as well

So, a converted VV will have the button on top like a Grand? If so, will there be a hole or a plug where the side switch was located?

Thanks for working on this!

Might be OCD but since there is always a drop or two coming out of the airhole on my rda I have a piece of papertowl in front of the battery.

If there is a drop I always have a piece of papertowl near by lol.

And you keep it clean never slop juice all over yeah vv grands are great for clean people I love mine .

Hmmm, that former VVG, now mechanical mod looks familiar. Did that happen to come with a silver vein door and smell like peppermint? All it needs now is a 10ml juice bottle!

I dont know how I feel about this. I loved the VVG and never had any problems with the chips inside. I did however, go through 3 Kicks before I got one that kept working. I dont know how many failures the VVG had, but I never really cared for the whole Kick concept..

I would guess most of the VVG failures were more to do with user error than anything, and leaving it up to the average customer to install their own Kick is probably going to lead to more problems IMO because in my experience...they werent very reliable.

Either way, I would love to see a 18650 Reo with integrated chip capable of 30 watts, JMO.

Well, I'm definitely interested in a reworking of the VVG. I own two of them, and both have been sent back for chip replacement. They are working well now, but I kind of like the idea of purchasing one battery instead two for replacement. The fact they also fit in my Grands is an added bonus.

No real experience with a Kick, but I figure at worst it can be a mechanical mod. And with the recent new springs/contacts, that ain't too bad...

I'm a helpless flavor chaser who can taste the difference between 3.7V and 4.0V so a Kick+18650+Grand with option to revert would make me VERY VERY happy.

Have you considered taking pre-orders when you reach a stage in your prototypes where you see the light at the end of tunnel?

Gosh, sign me up ASAP. Take my money and next born. PLEASE :)

Just a thought, it would be nice if the kick fit into the plug, with the plug on top naturally. 2nd, the lower screw hole for the old delrin insert is nice for wrapping some brass shim stock around the kick and screw it in place using that old tapped hole. It works well as a ground as well as a clamp.

That's gonna be pretty big. But imagine how big a bottle of juice you could fit in there ;)

I never really paid any attention in the Crown before however they may fit the application a lot better.

sorry if this is repedative for the rest of you!
The Crown is about half the thickness of the kick, which will not put as much strain on the spring also. So the safe fuse should not be necessary. The output and modes are set by the fire button with a more accurate audible sound rather than chasing it back and forth to get it just right on that misserable blue pot.

The output of the Crown is regulated by a miniature buck-boost switching power supply which measures and re-calibrates the output 10 times per second. The output produced by the Crown is Direct Current (DC); that is, it is constant, not pulsed and has a 100% duty cycle.

Protections;
The Crown is protected against short circuits by current limiting circuitry in the regulator. It also has thermal shutdown circuitry, so if it becomes too hot it will turn itself off. The Crown is also designed to shut down when the battery voltage drops below 3.0 volts. When used with the VapeSafe Spacer, the Crown/Battery/VapeSafe assembly is protected against internal shorts which may otherwise harm the battery.

This crown2.0 is awsome! I held it in place the same way as a kick with brass shim stock wrapped around and screwed in. I am not into the high wattage vaping so this is perfect.

Doesnt put any strain on the spring where it is thinner. The audible feedback and on the fly change from volts to watts. Lock the wattge and forget about it. Atty resistance appears accurate to me.

i am loving this thing way more than a kick. Great product.
