Non-Menthol, Non-Tobacco, Good Throat Hit Juice?

Hey everybody...

So I have been vaping menthol for a year...but these past couple of months I am just striking out no matter what brand juice I use. I definitely don't want tobacco flavor knock-offs (just don't like the taste)...but all my menthols are tasting like soap. Just gross.

However...what I do like about menthol is that it gives throat hit without upping the nic level. I'm at 18. Anybody know some great brands and great flavors that will still give a throat hit but aren't menthol or tobacco?

ETA: Or...is it possible I just need to step down a level to 12 (rather than 18)?

Stepping down to 1.2% would be a worthwhile experiment, I'd think.

That said, another way of going about it might be to find a fruit flavor that you like and add some menthol to it. Get your flavor from the fruit and the throat hit from the menthol.

Try DIY... I bought the Crystal Menthol since I love menthol flavor.

I mixed it with almost every flavor I vape, or to save the liquid I don't like the flavor (still experimenting on DIY flavors).

I ordered 12mg unflavored liquid from MtBaker. Adding the flavor lower the Nic level and with a few drops of Menthol, I get good throat hits.

Try looking at DIY. It will save you a lot of money. I haven't spent money on liquid for almost 2 months since I got into DIY.

I used to smoke menthol cigs.. started with tobacco and menthol flavors.. moved to DIY and discovered many things.. Pina Calada, Licorice, and especially clove and cinnamon give good strong solid TH's .. and I do all vaping at 18mg. I think moving to 12 will actually reduce your TH. If you are looking for strong juice, try pink spot vapors .. google them. They are a little pricey for juice, but the TH and flavor is outstanding. I DIY my stuff now, so I can't say who makes great pina calada, licorice, or cinnamon .. besides myself, of course

I get a good solid throat hit off of The Standard's Dead Man's Party, 18 mg. Blueberry-ish flavor.

Okay, just had to update and quote this particular post because I just accidentally tried a Pink Spot menthol (or hint of menthol) and so far I LOVE IT.

I went to my guy in town (local vape shop)...I love them (nice guys) but they only really have a list of flavors and manufacturers, not so much a description. I was worried about trying another menthol and was just debating what I figured were non-menthols (fruit flavors)...he recommended Pink Spot among his suppliers. I saw Frozen Lime Drop and I got it on a whim.

Oh my vaping heaven!!! Tastes exactly like Lime Jello-O but DOES have a kick...I looked it up online and it does contain a "hint" of menthol! Quite by accident on my part, LOL! Win!

You said no menthol....what about spearmint? Generally spearmint adds a nice, strong throat hit and flavor.

Also, what about cinnamon? I'm not particular a cinnamon fan, in fact, I can't remember the last time I ate anything with cinnamon in it. However, I got a "cinnamon sugar" sample from a vendor.....something I never would have ordered normally. It was the BEST LIQUID out of everything I ordered from them....not bad for a freebie included in the order

Cinnamon packs one HELLUVA throat hit...and tastes AWESOME in e-liquid. I just got a 30mL bottle in the mail today An e-liquid I never would have considered had I not gotten the freebie.

I'm kind of afraid of cinnamon...it's an irritant. Okay, so is menthol, but I've definitely heard negative things about inhaling cinnamon flavor.

Spearmint might be nice!

Glad you liked Pink Spot.. I've tried a few of theirs and the only disappointments for me were the tobacco flavors (except clove), and of course.. the prices. Their Rip Tide signature flavor is outstanding with a great cool TH and good mix of menthol with other fruit flavors.

Spearmint.. well.. it's different haha. I've only made my own, but found it's unsweetened, so it was really harsh, and way way way too strong (I intend to try again with sweetener and less flavoring), but it seemed like it just didn't stand by itself as a great flavor. I could see mixing it with some fruits, but not sure which ones.
