Noob First Post with a couple questions White Rhino and Fantasia Purple Haze

Hello All,

I've never been a cigarette smoker, but have enjoyed some cigars on very rare occasions. I tried a friends E-Cig/hookah the about a month ago. I don't know if it was disposable or not, but it was a grape flavor and I loved it. Then about two weeks ago I got a Smooth brand grape disposable e-cig (labeled as E-Hookah) and again loved. With both I was able to take a long heavy draw, the vapor was smooth, tasty, and cool (I'm speaking of temperature ).

So yesterday took an uneducated dive into the E-Cig world and I bought a White Rhino Liquid Travel Pack on a whim since that is the only thing the cigar shop had. The kit seemed OK for $50 and then I bought Purple Haze e-liquid from Fantasia to go along with it. I got home and got the thing charged, filled it and began to vape. The first thing I noticed was that the longer draws would produce hot vapor that felt like it was burning the back of my throat. I guess that's what people call a throat hit. I didn't and don't enjoy it at all. Second, I noticed the Purple Haze flavor was grape tasting at first, but then changed to a medicine taste, which I didn't like.

Overall I'm not very happy with it so far, but I need some advice.

1. What can I do to reduce the hot vapor?
2. What can I do to reduce the throat hit but maintain great flavor?
3. Is the purple haze from fantasia a mix of grape and other stuff?
4. Does the white rhino use ego threading?
5. Is ego and 510 the same threading? I believe after reading posts that is the case.

hello and welcome.

1. i cant tell you too much about the hot vapor. could be the resistance on your clearo.
2. the throat hit could be from your nicotine content. what does it say on the bottle? does it have the ingredients listed?
3. again does it have the ingredients listed? what website did you get it from?
4. the white rhino has ego cone threading. i dont know if it uses it or not.
5. ego and 510 threading are not the same. if you look at your battery it should have 2 sets of threads. one where it screws onto the charger. thats 510 and a second set a little closer to the button on the outside. that would be ego threading.

1. Doesn't look like their product is variable voltage, so the only way to really reduce the "hotness" would be to try using a bottom coil clearomizer.
2. You could try a lower nicotine level, or maybe a different pg (propelyne glycol) / vg (vegetable glycerin) mixture. (pg = more TH, vg = less TH)
3. Dont know about this.

5. 510 and ego threadings are different. 510 threads go inside the connection port, ego threads screw on the outside of the connector and as you tighten down the pin finds its way into the connection port on the battery.

Strong Throat hit could be a higher percentage of PG in your juice. I'd try a higher vg/pg ratio, this should help. There are many places on line that do custom ratios. Mt baker Vapor is a good one. If your PV is not VV/VW you cannot adjust the "heat". Hope this helps.

Well it sounds like your having quite the mess of problems here Huh?
I don't ever use regulated devices, but first if you have a multimeter, use it and check to see what your battery is firing at. Then record that number
Then look at the head of your clearo/tank and see what ohm/resistance your attached device is. If ur egos firing around 4.2v you'll want a 2.0 ohm or 2.0 resistance tank. If it's firing around 3.7 I'd say a 1.8ohm tank, and if it's one if those Chinese knock offs (idk what a Rhino is) and it's firing around 3.4 I'd say use a 1.5 ohm tank. Also try bottom coil devices to reduce vapor temperature, and throat hit. A heavy VG base juice will also help to reduce throat hit, and increase vapor, but results in a small loss of flavor "prominence". I'm not sure if I'm explaining everything quite clearly but if not, I'm sure another member would be glad to help you try to understand in other ways. Vape on Bros

If you're looking for a more hookah like draw you're going to have to buy a completely different setup.

That's an ego type battery with a ce4 type clearo on it.

The best solution I have for you is to pick up a protank mini and throw it on your battery. See if you like that better.

Welcome Mochocow. I can't really add anything to the conversation that has already been said. But just wanted to welcome you. If you have never really been a smoker, I would recommend zero nicotine content for just pure flavor enjoyment.

I did throw a meter on it and the voltage was 3.7V consistently after many draws and checking. The resistance was 1.9 Ohms. I appreciate the suggestion on the hookah like experience cause that's what I'm going for.

All the flavors I have and will try will be nicotine free. I just enjoy a good cloud with some tasty flavors. Unfortunately my flavors don't explain what mix they are of pg or vg. I do appreciate the help.

so i am just kinda joining the mix... the protank is a great clearomizer IMHO, I have a mini protank 2 it is bottom coil which means that the vapor cools slightly before you get it... the version 2s have removable drip tips... if you get a protank and it is not cool enough you can get a longer drip tip to help cool the vapor further... i suggest getting the protank because it is made of glass and you can vape any flavor you want without worrying about cracking your tank... some (most) plastic tanks will not withstand cinnamon, bannana, citrus, etc... better to be safe than sorry...

as said before the higher pg causes more throat hit, higher vg gives more vapor... pg is thinner and delivers more flavor as well, vg is thicker and doesnt carry flavor as well... a 50/50 is a great way... but if its still too harsh go higher vg... plenty of vendors online will list the ratios, and most will allow you to customize, if they dont find one that does...

another way to create a "cool" feel and sensation would be to buy a bottle of koolada. it is not menthol however it has a cool effect with no taste... from most vendors the going ratio is 1 drop of koolada per 1ml of liquid. i have a bottle of koolada and yesterday i put more koolada in my cherry limeade than i would have liked... got distracted and wasnt thinking... holy cow... its like ice...

mtbakervapor has amazing deals... some of the best i have seen and if you order $15 they will send you a free 15ml liquid, you can request and most of the time they come through, i LOVE mtbakervapor, have recently started mixing my own liquid but will still be buying from them from time to time...

Thanks for the info if thats right thats great I got one of the White Rhino kits when I lost my 510s and was without a e-cig, the clearomizer/tanks that come with it are junk, I got a couple EVOD clearos coming for only 6.99each there rated at 1.8ohm from goodejuice.com and i got a second battery for 12.99 a EVOD 650mah and its a 3.7v too so if ur numbers are right I did good at matching them up, the invisible wick tanks made by White Rhino will start to leak and i dont know any way to clean them, I tried but tore part of the silicone inside trying to get it to pop off to show the coil, so I went with the EVOD Clearo its a bottom coil thats changeable heads very easy to maintain
