First off I smoked two packs a day of Marlboro reds. I have now been free from analogs for 5 days now. I am really ready to go back to smoking since I cant get the hang of it I guees. I started off with the blu ecig. I know big mistake waste of money, however, its design mostly resembled analogs so I was able to stop smoking. My problem was I loved the blu just the cartos would not last and refilling them has been hell. I have been getting a major sore throat from it and it tastes burnt. I opened one up and it had actual burn marks on the inside.

I guees you could say I am not a complete noob as I have been lurking on these forums for about a week now. I also bought an joye510 with cart and atomizer I like cartos better so I put the blue cartos that I refilled on the joye 510 and it starts to taste burnt although they burn up literally on the blu so I know that either way they will eventually burn up on either batt. I also have been getting very low vapor production from the joye 510 brand new out of the box and even after a two day break in of the atomizer. I am starting to get frustrated I followed all the stuff on the forums and still come up short. My only complaint of the blu is the short bat life but that is true with any mini. I hear so much of duel coil cartos, tanks, bottom feeders, povaris, clearomizers passthrus etc that my head is about to spin. I studied all the info and before I go throwing money I would like to know if it gets better. I have used johnson creek juices so far and vapor corner juice which I believe is just rebranded form of a china juice. Anyone that is willing to help I have stuff I can trade for advice. I am almost ready to throw it all away and go buy a carton of reds. I was able to quit on the blu because the vapor production was awesome and I had enough bats that the charging did not matter.

Sorry for writing a book lol but here is specifically what I would like advice on.

I need something that will produce a nice body of vapor, and I need a wide selection of great tasting and vaping e-juice. tobacco fruits and others I like it all

I need something that when I hit it I get a clean flavor and decent throat hit. The joye510 hits harder than an analog regardless ofd brand new outta box and two days later lol but yet produces almost no vapor I tried another ato and cart and get slightly more vape but still a terrible taste and throat hit. maybe the juice im using? The blue cartos start to burn in a very short time and give me the feeling I am sucking burning bleach fumes.

3. I need something I can refill and is durable with good battery life.

Also what turned me on to ecigs was a vendor in a booth at the mall selling ecigs. I did not buy one because I knew 150 dollars was to much for it based on common sense. But He let me set for like 5 minutes and puff on one. Damn it was good a crazy amount of vapor and superb taste with amazing throat hit. I can not remember the name of the place regardless it was too high. The diffrence I think was the juice maybe a vg pg mix because I have now tried carts and cartos and I like cartos better compared to joye carts and ato. I am still chasing the taste and TH I got from the mall kiosk. I know it can be done and it would be nice to have something that is refillable wont catch on fire (burn up) durable long lasting and have awesome flavors to accompany it.

Any Ideas and advice?

Hi neo, sorry to hear ur having such problems. I will say once you fry a carto it seems impossible to get that burt taste out. I started with the v2 and am still using it i guess there are similar options that are not as expensive. But i reallyy like the two piece easy desighn and im gettn good vapor from it. relill is a snap using the condom refill method. I would look for a kro808d1 desighn with cartimizers it makes it easy. I smoked reds for 12 years and winstons for 8 and my favorite e liquid so far if dekangs desert ship. good luck dude!:vapor:

Use Boge standard resistance (around 3.0) blank cartomizers on the 510 and they work best with thin juices. I use juices with 20% or less VG. Any more VG dulls hit and makes slim ecig cartos not drag as well. I also avoid any juice that drops a lot of flavoring sediment in the stuffing - it makes cartos degrade quicker. If you can find the 2.5 ohm Boges you could use them on slim 510 but your battery life will be even shorter. Do not use anything below 2.5 on a slim ecig (i.e. you cannot use the LR 2.0 ones - they are for fat batteries and mods). I get them at LiteCigUSA.net and Liberty-Flights.com Boge are the most popular cartos on 510 threaded devices.

If you want a hotter slim ecig look at KR808D-1 - see Vapor4Life - a real 3.7v mini and I recommend manual only!! Standard size batteries. You could also look at the Smokeless Image model Volt - same threading, better sealed threaded end on the manuals but their button is very tiny. I do not recommend autos when refilling cartos. I use the Vapor4Life WOW cartos which i think are around 2.5 ohm and some of their WOW juices pack quite a hit (though some are overflavored). If the mall brand you tried was 2-piece it may have been this popular model or the incompatible rebrander version KR808D-2.

NOTE - with the same juice for me, 510 w/ Boge carto makes a moister bigger drag with more vapor and KR808D-1 makes a warmer drier drag with more hit.

I you are willing to go to a fat battery for more hit then I highly recommend the Riva 510 at Liberty-Flights.com only. They have the latest version from the correct manufacturer - this newer version is 3.7v and when I put the standard resistance Boge cartos on it I get a bigger hit with more TH. Since these batteries are 650mah+ you can also use the hotter LR atomizers and cartomizers on them (like Boge 2.0 and others). After pressing the 20% off upper left front page, go look at Riva 510.

I'll try to make this a concise as possible.

I went through the same thing; I think most of us did. I went back to analogs multiple times out of frustration and lack of funds to keep trying new gear. IT DOES GET BETTER.

#1: STAY AWAY FROM DEVICES THAT LOOK LIKE CIGARETTES. THEY HAVE A LOW BATTERY LIFE AND ARE DISPOSABLE, MEANING WHEN THEY STOP CHARGING, THE WHOLE THING GOES IN THE GARBAGE, UNLIKE MODS, WHICH HOUSE SEPARATE BATTERIES THAT CAN BE CYCLED AND REPLACED.

#2: AT THIS POINT, MOST PEOPLE UNDERSTAND, ANYTHING WITH A "FILLER" IN IT IS A HORRIBLE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. TANK CARTOS (IN MY OPINION) ARE THE ONLY WAY TO GO, UNLESS YOU STRICTLY DRIP, THEN IT'S A MATTER OF ATTY CHOICE. TANK UNITS HOLD A RESERVOIR OF FLUID AND WICK IT TO THE ATTY, KEEPING THE FLUID SAFE FROM OBVIOUS EXTERNAL DEBRIS AND CONTAMINANTS (NOT 100%, BUT A LOT BETTER THAN FILLER MATERIAL.). HAVING NO FILLER ALSO MEANS -NO BURNT FILLER- AND THE BEST PRESERVATION OF FLAVOR. THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT TANK CARTOS OUT THERE, I RECOMMEND TRYING A PACK OF CE2 OR CE3 CLEAROMIZERS OR SMOKEYMIZERS. I ALWAYS GO WITH 510'S BECAUSE THEY'RE THE MOST COMMON, COMPATIBLE, CHEAP, EASY TO FIND AND RELIABLE. ALSO, LOW RESISTANCE IS USUALLY THE WAY TO GO, BUT IT DEPENDS ON YOUR PARTICULAR DEVICE.

#3: IF YOU'RE GOING TO COMMIT TO THIS, YOU WILL END UP USING MODS THAT DO NOT LOOK O FEEL ANYTHING LIKE A CIGARETTE. THAT BOTHERED ME AT FIRST TOO, BUT IT WILL HAPPEN. A GOOD SET OF TRAINING WHEELS FOR THE STEP UP TO FULL-FLEDGED MODS WOULD BE AN EGO. THEY'RE CHEAP, RELIABLE, EASY TO FIND AND NOT AS HEAVY, STRANGE-LOOKING OR LARGE AS MORE ADVANCED MODS.

#4: THERE ARE AN OVERWHELMING AMOUNT OF OPTIONS FOR JUICE ALL OVER THE WEB! IF YOU WANT TO START BASIC, I RECOMMEND RED LABEL JUICES FROM TOTALLY WICKED. FOR A GREATER VARIETY AND AMAZING CUSTOMIZATION, LET ALONE DIRT-CHEAP PRICES AND -AMAZING- CUSTOMER SERVICE, CHECK OUT VELVET VAPORS.

#5: NOW, THEORETICALLY, YOU NOW HAVE A PSEUDO-MOD (THE EGO) WITH A CE 510LR CARTO AND YOU'VE LEARNED HOW TO DO SYRINGE REFILLS. YOU'RE GOOD TO GO! RIGHT?! NOPE!! STUFF WILL GO WRONG AND YOU WILL WANT TO SCREAM AND BREAK THINGS, BUT THERE IS A WONDERFUL, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND ATTENTIVE COMMUNITY HERE. MOST OF YOUR QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS TO COME HAVE ALREADY BEEN ADDRESSED AND IF THEY HAVEN'T, A SIMPLE POST, SUCH AS THIS ONE WILL GET YOU THE ANSWER YOU SEEK.

#6: I'M ASSUMING YOU AREN'T GOING TO FOLLOW THE SHOPPING LIST I CAME UP WITH FOR YOU, SO JUST REMEMBER TO LOOK FOR REVIEWS OF -EVERYTHING- AND CHECK OUT TOPICS ABOUT THE PRODUCT HERE AS WELL.

Good luck and welcome to being an active community member! I hope i helped just a little, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. :)

Cig sized batteries and bargain juices just didn't cut it for me. Gona repost some stuff i posted in another thread earlier today and includes everything I recommend, where to get it, and how much it costs.

From liberty-flights.com (click 20% discount in upper left):
Riva lite kit - $29.99
A 510 driptip of your choosing - ~$2
5 Pack of Boge LR (2.0 ohm) cartomizers - $7.99

All you need then is juice, I personally recommend pinkspotvapors.com (pink spot is excellent and tastes like pink lemonade, their dutch apple pie is the only apple pie I've found that tastes like *baked* apples, not fake apple). I've liked just about everything from them.

If you like menthol in your juice rawrvapor.com seems to specialize in it, great juice overall. Their default selection for menthol is a medium menthol, and they really do suggest menthol in their juice. Id recommend trying the Hawaii Sunrise.

Atomic cinnicide from tastyvapor definitely requires a mention but their juices are hit or miss imo. AC is amazing however, like cinnamon red hot candies. STRONG flavor and throat hit.

If you like the Boge LR (2.0 ohm) cartomizers, you can get 15 of them for $20 and free shipping @ crystalclearvaping.com

This setup allows you to try dripping and cartomizers, it includes cartridges in the Riva kit but cartridges suck.

The Riva is an ego style battery that runs @ 3.7v rather than the egos 3.2, it is also 750mah. The general conversion is 100mah = 1 hour of vaping, so each one should last ~7.5hrs and the kit includes two.

This kit will be lightyears ahead of your current setup

I started vaping in March. Did pretty good for about 2 weeks then the party was over. I started with the KR808's because I wanted something small and not so obvious. I loved them for a while! Had to increase my nicotene to 24mg but still wasn't getting that satisfaction. Then along came the Echo and Echo-e from D and B Gold - Home, simply amazing. I also find that using manual batteries work best for the throat hit. I now use the IGO from the same supplier. The advantage of the IGO is I can use all my KR808 cartridges and get an awesome throat hit and vapor. Right now I put on an 11mg and it's great! these batteries last a good 24 hrs, they come in 1300mah and 650mah. I can use my KR808's for sampling juices b4 I put them in the bigger cartomizers. The cartomizers hold about 3 mil of juice, which I generally top off 2x a day so I don't vape them dry. Most people clean them after about a week, I try to hit it for 2 weeks, I have had some that will last 4 weeks b4 cleaning. At any rate, cleaning the carts is important part of vaping as well as getting the right juice and battery! My combination is the 1300mah IGO with Atomic Cinnacide from Welcome to Tasty Vapor, great throat hit. I did have a sore throat for a few days with this but it was worth it!! lol I have adapted!! I also use some tobacco flavors and coffee. D&B's link here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...go-kits-1300mah-45-00-650-mah-40-00-a-16.html the pricing says 45 and 40 for kits, but they are now $47 and $42. Still a great price and each kit comes with 2 batteries, charger and FIVE cartomizers and one drip tip. Fast shipping and D&B will work with you to help you decide what's best!! Good Luck...this worked for me and I can proudly say...no analogs since I started!!

I was a lights smoker (1.5-2 PAD for over 3 decades) and good manual slim minis do work for me. 95% of my vaping is on them and I only bought the Riva 510 and 3.7 box after dropping my nicotine several levels over a period of months, using just the slim ecigs. I thought I might need the boost in hit sometimes but I mostly use the Riva as a portable backup battery and enjoy the bigger hit off it occasionally.

The KR808D-1 is a real 3.7v device, it has more voltage than an Ego. True you cannot use LR cartos below 2.5ohms on a slim ecig safely but it packs a nice hit and many people on this board will agree with that. The 510 is lower voltage but I like the moist vapory hit with the Boges. I vape both.

It depends on the person. Nobody can tell me I need a big battery or LR cartos because I don't need them. I certainly don't need tanks. I enjoy having my flavors totally separate for good contrast.

Find what is good for you.

You're refilling disposable items meant to be used for a short time. Where are you in TX? CC for Crawford County?

Many of the kiosks are 51Trios. Was that what you tried at the mall? That's what I bought. It was $190 with 2 batteries, extra carts and cartos etc. If that makes you happy you can buy those kits for about $30 online.

I've been at this for a year and know exactly what you are going through. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I've owned slim battery kits clear up to mods...but there is one setup that I always go back to. It's trusty, leaves me satisfied, and will give you loads of vapor, flavor, and TH. The setup is an eGo battery with a Boge cartomizer. It doesn't get any easier that that. Liberty-flights.com sells both. If you decided to purchase the kit and carto's, get a drip tip while you're there...it makes it easier to fill your carto's and feels nice on the lips.

As for juices, well, no one can really tell you what you'll like. For tobacco flavors, I prefer nitelitevapor.com. For other flavors, I have my favorites but you'll have to try them out for yourself. Here is a list of places you can start with that sell samplers.

Yeah, 1 thing I forgot to mention , that others have said since, is that everyone is different, there is no perfect setup for everyone. I vape like crazy on high nic levels, but have never needed anything above 3.7v, whereas most people that are heavy vapers prefer 5-6v.

Also, be prepared for lots of trial and error, getting setup the way you want it and only worrying about charging and refilling will take a good bit of experimenting. It took me about a year to make the jump to mods and a while after that to get used to bringing them everywhere.

Rest assured, it DOES pay off and knowing exactly what works for me now is a great feeling.

Wow thanks for the input everyone. I greatly appreciate everyone's responses and opinions. I really like the awesome community here. I have a few questions now from reading everyones responses.

1. What is the difference between a tank and a carto. For instance, Will the tank hit better or worse than the carto? Will a good non disposable carto LOL refill and last just as good as a good tank or will i get the burnt taste quick vs no burnt taste with a tank?

2. What is better for vapor production and throat hit a pg vg mix or one or the other?

3. Is a clearomizer just a tank with a built in ato or what?

4. So if I am understanding correctly LR batts produce more vapor?

5. Is it safe to say that for my preference and needs an ego, g6 or other similar type will be best suited? and also cartos or tanks or ?

I just dont want to go and order a ton of stuff and regret it again lol. I am sure in a few months time I will be responding to these same kind of posts and remembering when I was there. I love this community you guys rock and keep the advice coming its giving me alot to think about.

An Ego/Riva or Kgo kit and cartomizers. You'll also need some juice.
K-GO : DUAL COIL CARTOMIZERS - YouTube

I'd suggest waiting on a tank or anything but a cartomizer and atomizer to start. Keep it simple. Tanks can be very frustrating. Later you might fall in love with them.

Juice:
PG gives you more flavor and throat hit
VG gives you more vapor
either 80/20 or 70PG/30VG mix should give you the vapor you want and not sacrifice too much flavor/TH. Your JC juice (original line) is PG and doesn't produce a lot of vapor but offers a strong flavor and TH.

Cartomizers:
Low resistance cartomizers will give you a warmer cigarette-like vape. They run your batteries down a little faster but if you're going with a Fat Batt kit you should be fine with a two-battery kit. Look at the mAh rating of the ecig you buy. Every 100 mAh is about an hour of battery life. It is not recommended that you use a dual coil cartomizer on an Ego. I've heard many people do. The Riva and Kgo have a higher mAh rating and don't carry those warnings.

You really can do this and you'll love it when you hit your sweet spot. Hope it happens fast for you.

I'd keep your 510 setup when out and about...if you need batter batt life get some Riva510 batts from liberty flights. For home use get a Mod that uses Li-ion recharge batts or AW's. Tube Mods are the easiest to use for a beginner.

I don't comment on juice any longer...6 of this 1/2 dozen of the other...I DIY my juice now.
