OK first off I just recently tried dripping with a 306 (it was cheap and it worked) and would like to
get some recommendations on a good rebuildable atomizer. Next, I have not yet done any rebuilding
and I could use a little advice on what gauge kanthal I should be looking for as well as the wicking thickness.
I myself, prefer the higher resistance to the lower. I do have experience with electrical components so I
don't think I'm going to get in over my head.
Any feedback will be appreciated.

I hope I have posted in the right forum, feel free to move if not.

What type of device are you using? are you going to stick with dripping, are you planing to give bottom feeders a go?

If you are on an eGo type batt and want something that'll match size wise, inexpensive, easy to build and forgiving I'd pick up an igo s...pretty good little device.

IGO-S Rebuildable Atomizer

If your APV is of the 18xxx batt variety, pick up it's bigger brother the igo L (I don't own an L but I do have a couple s's, I'd be confident in getting an L if I was just going to drip, there's enough quality there till you hit the next level)

I'd like to steer you away from silica but if you're new to rba's it really is the easiest way to start, pick up some 1mm and some 2mm, you can experiment a lot with those 2 sizes...but when you get comfortable with the silica consider a move to organics: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/284030-wick-materials-safe-vs-dangerous.html or http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/atomizer-mods/378875-just-hemp.html

as far as Kanthal goes...just start with 32 awg A1, it's the easiest to work with, and unless you really screw up, will be the most forgiving on your batts (you'll most likely pop your coil before your apv)

and most importantly...buy a meter and get into the practise of measuring your coil resistance before hitting the fire button, it doesn't have to be some fancy, high end thing...but a little safety with your adventure into RBA's is always a good thing :D

Luck and Cheers...

Thanks for the comeback Quigsworth.
I do have a couple of egos and a twist as backups but use a
Segelei zmax v3 tele daily. Just got a couple of Kanger Pros and love them so I'm not really looking
for a bottom feeder more just to drip with and something to get started with learning to do my own coils and wicks.
I was looking at the Igo L on youtube earlier and it seems to have a lot of supporters. Thanks again.
