Any verdicts yet on that 22g. I'm super curious

I built a 0.193 Ohm dual coil, it takes a second to heat up (as was expected) but after it heats up, vapor, vapor, vapor... I haven't had a chance to take pictures and a video yet but I will soon. I'm going to build it a little lower to see if I can get the heat up time reduced, we'll see.

It's funny you made this thread because I was just about to make a thread to see if there were any other 24Ga fans out there. My favorite wick/coil so far is 6 wraps of 24Ga around an 1/8" bit with a piece of XC-116 twisted through it. It's around .55-.6 ohms and theres something special about that coil diameter in relation to nextel as I've tried going to a slightly smaller diameter with a marginally tighter fit and the VP falls off. This config spits vapor in 3 directions like a nano dragon. Heat up time? What heat up time? It nearly instant. Just pulse your coils red and squeeze them tight with plier a few times. In fact the liquid reaches flash point very rapidly and tends to spit everywhere with the cap off. My computer has juice dots on it from doing that.

Forget all the fat wire haters. I cant recreate the same dense yet cool and flavorful vape with thin wire. That pic is a half charged battery BTW

Metamorpheus - Have you built that with cotton yet? Nice. I actually get about the same results with twisted 26... but I'm open to trying 24 or 22. I'm kind of sold on the twist though as it seems to give the double punch of both lower resistance and covering more wick. It also does something different to the flavor - cuts the sweetness a bit, which is perfect for me because I hate too much sweet.

I personally love fat wire - the coils last and last. Although you need large holes in your atty and they don't wind well around small screws.

Hope you guys are using the right batteries, measuring and calculating everything. Be safe.

I had been on a kick of using twisted 26g for little while but ive gone back to single wires because i can wrap smaller diameter coils and its just easier. Gonna pick up some 24g soon. Had my twisted 26 set up in my modded nimbus. Dual coils running at .26 ohms. Pretty gnarly stuff.

I had seen a video a while back of someone using 22g wire and it seemed pretty nice. I think he was running it on a genny but from what i remember it worked quite well.

I've built it with cotton the first time I messed with 24 Ga, but I wasn't a fan maybe the density was off. Cotton holds a lot of juice around the coils and lowers the wire temp more from what I've seen. I got some loose packed degummed hemp fiber to work for me last night though. Tried dual 26 Ga..meh. They weren't heating evenly and couldn't put out like 24. 24 Ga at 1/8" ID is coming close to the nextel, but not quite the same.

The nextel is just really clean and lasts forever. I dry burn it untill the VP doesn't seem to come back, maybe like 2 weeks since I'm picky. Then I'll pull the nextel out, dry burn the coils really well, torch the nextel white again, and slide it right back through. One thing about the 24 Ga is that it becomes more obvious when your below 3.7V. You need a good high drain to get the stuff rocking like it should. I use the sony VTC4 30A 2100mAh. I probably get some V drop from my magneto and atty, but I'm happy with it for now.

And yes the bane of the fat wire's existence is getting around small screw heads. You have to wrap it around the drill bit and make hooks with the leads. Try to get them somewhat level with one another and hook around the posts, pull tight with the bit, and screw down hard. In fact it's so annoying that I added some larger screw heads to my order from kidney puncher. So many times I've tried a vertical coil in my russian and connected one side only to have it come out while connecting the other. The other thing is if you get any overlap in your coils, just start over if it's anywhere but the far end. Trying to get crimps out of fat wire....not worth the effort.
