That depends entirely upon you, but being new you wouldn't know. I use a 2.0 mm screwdriver from a Stanley screwdriver set, purchased for about $6 at Walmart. All the screwdrivers have their mandrel size on the handle.

A larger mandrel will allow a larger wick to be introduced into the coil.

2mm and/or 5/64" drill bit is a good beginning I would agree. I personally use a 1/16" bit for my builds. Not sure what it is, but I get better flavor with a smaller diameter coil with no matter what rda I choose to use. Hasn't failed me yet. Experiamentation is the name of the game. The good news...........when you find what you like, it is heaven.

2mm is good to start with, but there are more important questions you should ask yourself, like is vapor or flavor or maybe a bit of both, use single dual or quad, you want to sub ohm or not, which wire gauge, what type of wick and what's your goal resistance, use simple micro coil, twisted or maybe something more complex. How about PG/VG ratio.
Yes there is a lot to learn, good luck on that.

Yeah I am definitely more into flavor, I am not sub ohming yet. I bought some 30g wire and the Igo-L is single coil. I am aiming for about 1.6 ohm. Whats the difference b/w micro coil and twisted though?
A microcoil has the loops comressed together so that all the loops are touching each other. This eliminates a lot of hot spots of an open looped coil, and allows for more even heat distribution of the coil.

Twisted means the wire has been twisted like a corkscrew prior to making a coil. I've not attempted this as I'm quite satisfied with my "ordinary" microcoils.

Micro coils are any coils that are 2mm or less in diameter, twisted is just as baditude said. take 2 pieces of wire and twist them together. Dont attempt this since your new It is going to lower your resistance and you need to become proficient in a method of doing it using a drill or such. if your looking to hit 1.5 or so ohms, you have no real need to worry about twisted wire yet.
